Hey guys! I'm 22 just graduated from NC State and have been dipping since I was 15. For about the past 4 years I have dipped Grizzly Wintergreen religiously (3/4-1 can per day). I know this website is for people who aren't using at all but I've tried to cut back over the past week or so and have actually held off pretty well. I'm still having trouble after I eat a big meal or on a break at work. I know this is mostly mental but I really want to quit because I've had grandparents die of tobacco related cancer(lung). Glad to read the comments from everyone on here though. Any suggestions for what to do after the big meals/long car rides/breaks. Thanks a lot.

I would stress the outside support network. If your priority is to quit, this will solidify your chances.

Welcome.

PC,

Good Choice!

Remeber a few things:

We Quit one day at a time --fuck tomorrow--only today. Each day post roll--this is your promise to quit for that day--KEEP YOUR PROMISE--BE A MAN OF HONOR.

We are a nicotine free support system---no pussy nicotine replacemnet shit--which just drags the real wrok of quitting out further--NO NICOTINE.

You are an addict---learn this

read everything on this site three time--old stuff and new--everything---educate yourself. Educated quitters are more sucessful.

Along with this site, get off site support--wife, good friend, family doctor etc...

Here I go again...

Hey all--I just posted my first roll call.

I've been on this journey many times, but the last time was several years ago. I quit then, cold turkey, because of a pending blood test for life insurance. I was lying to those closest to me about whether I was using or not. I had to quit, or the lie would come out. So I quit while on a camping/fishing trip with a couple of buddies. Good thing they were supportive, and one had quit a few years previous.

I stayed quit for a couple of years, then started up again. There's no casual use for me--I've pretty much always have known that--so it wasn't long before I was buying dip, sneaking around, lying, and worrying about whether I had enough or when/where could I have a chew. Then Camel Snus came along, and I was sucking on those things right in front of my wife. A pernicious, enabling little product, that is.

As it's happened nearly every time, my wife figured it out. I was ready to quit, but she gave me the kick in the ass I needed. Rest assured, I'm quitting for ME, not her.

We went camping last week, and I stopped dipping. Getting away from the routine for those first few days really helps.

I'm back to my sunflower seed habit.

So far, so good, 5 days in.
