Welcome.

The way it works here is that you join a quit group - in your case March '19 (that's the month you will hit 100 days quit, or what we call the Hall of Fame). Early each morning, you post a promise to yourself, members of your quit group, and other veteran member supporters that you will not use nicotine in any form for the rest of the day. That's called "posting roll". We quit for one day, every day. I've been doing it for 1,062 days.

Here's a link to your quit group - https://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?topic=793.0

Another thing we do is exchange digits (phone numbers). Mine are a Personal Message away. We text (or call, but usually text) support back and forth. Also, if you are in a really bad spot, and are about to cave, you have some people you can reach out to help stop the cave.

Quitting is simple - make your promise, keep your promise. But it's harder than hell. We are here to offer support, because we have been through it.

Proud to quit with you.

Greetings everyone,

I have been chewing since I was 16 years old. Started with leaf tobacco, then moved to the can. I am currently 33 years old and have finally grown tired of it. I have tried numerous times to quit, most recently this summer. I did really well until I moved and went through a home sickness phase, so I decided to return to the comfort (dumbass idea) of chewing. This time, I have increased my usage from a can every 2-3 days to a can every day and a half. I'm tired of it. I've also tried alternatives such as BACC-OFF, Grinds, and chewing gum of course, but I think a lot of my issue is just having a big ol' hammer dip in that keeps my mind occupied. I have been pretty lucky dental wise, but recently I have been having some throat issues. So when I got checked out, I found out that I have LPR, or more commonly known as Laryngopharyngeal reflux. I was told that I need to decrease and quit the following: caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and spicy foods. So pretty much everything that I enjoy. But with that being said, I am willing to sacrifice the things hurting me to continue to live a healthy life. As much as I want to quit, I am also scared that I will gain a bunch of weight back. Having a dip in always kept me from eating, so I guess what I am needing are some pointers and tips to helping me quit, detox my body, stay healthy, and never return to dipping ever again. As of this moment I have had 2 dips since waking up. I'm ready to kill the can. Please help me.

Thank you,
Dylan Vittetoe
