Haven't seen you post roll last few days. Popping in and out of the site in the morning isn't enough either. Hang around. Read the forums and stories and roll calls. Go to chat. Popping in and out is not good for someone on their first week.

If you want to use the site, use it. If not, don't waste our fucking time. You have my number. You haven't used it. You better still be quit. I don't want to invest my time in anyone that isn't serious about quitting.

A few little tidbits just to help with your mindset.

A once/week meeting is not nearly enough, so I'm glad you came here. To beat nicotine, you have to (at least for the first few months) keep it at the front of your mind every single minute. It takes a lot of focus.

You have to quit (and be here) because you want to be, not because a doc suggested it. I think that is the case, but just wanted you to think about it.

There is no "try" or "luck" in this situation. There is successful quit, and there is failure. It's all up to us. As a vet, you know how to engage life and stick to a plan. Apply that focus and resolve to your addiction, and you'll stand a good chance of success.

  • Interests: Birdwatching, walking, hiking, running. me and my wife love hiit.(high intensity interval training). We enjoy eating as clean as possible and trying new foods. We are currently doing GSP rushfit 8 week program and so far it kicks ass.

Good to hear you quit. I am quit for 5 days and I feel great that I finally have my mind set to quit forever this time. Having a great site to scroll through at night when I get home helps alot to. Keep up the good work and were all quitting together.

That's what I like to hear, Grizz.

My only additional, non-unique advice, would be to post roll everyday here, post it early, and hang on the site and browse around and read the stories for as much as you can in the first few days/weeks.

Get to know your November quit group. Start to form personal relationships. This sounds odd right now, but after 3 days, I can promise you that this will start to make sense.

Going back to the can after realizing that you are an addict and coming to this website for help is only called one thing: Failure. You have a choice whether or not you are going to fail. Addiction is never cured, only beaten back on a daily basis. This is a war that will never end, for you or me. But I have fought nicotine 123 times on a daily basis, and won each time. I chose not to fail and to trust in my brothers and sisters in quit. If you really and truly want to be quit, then you will do the same.
