I hate to hear it, but I like what you said. There are some tough MF'ers on here that really get after folks who fail...I'm not one of them, but I want to stress this isn't a site for people justing giving it a shot.

If you are serious about your commitment, you will not fail. You would never try a cigar because you gave your word about NICOTINE!!! You would have exhausted all tools, all numbers, all chat rooms, etc.

Look, I'm not saying you're being flippant or taking this lightly, but what you need to ask yourself is what are you prepared to do differently this time?

Welcome back. Stay strong, stay quit. We're here for you so don't let us down!!!

Well I did it, fuc#ed up but ready to move on. It was a combination of things. One is me not posting wich was the biggest mistake of all, the second was not reaching out for advice and the third was thinking that I actually had control over my addiction and that I could handle alternate tobacco products (Cigars). Either way it all leaded me right back to the 'Bitch" and falling off the Quit train. Again I appoligize I let myself down foremost and my family second. Well I am ready to "RUCK THE FUCK UP!" and Rolling On!

Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out.

Buckeye: He's my buddy and its kinda like little boys in grade school picking on girls if they don't like you they don't pick on you! A Recruiting/Infantry thing. I think he was genuinely thinking of quitting when he saw that I am. I am hnadeling it pretty good this time, I am just worried about when I head into the woods, or if I head over the big pond again. I see your a buckeye fan,my 2nd favorite team, sorry though I am from WI originally so a Badger fan. You take care and stay warm!

Thank you all for the support, all I got to say is WOW! I have not seen this many people offering help outside of the communities that I have been in. Been a day so far can't tell you about tomorrow but can gaurantee the rest of the day will be Nicotine Free! I am very positive about tomorrow but only living for today!

Thanks alot for all the support so far, and I will be leaning outta my foxhole for help from time to time and its great knowing it is there. Thanks Again for today!

Brian: I will be the only one at Gillette with a cheesehead on, and no dip cup this time!

Thanks Again everyone! Its impressive!

Just saw that you posted roll this morning. Glad you joined us. I'm right there with you  only on day 5. I'm a female who had been dipping in hiding for over 20 years (since in college). Although my family really knew it was something never talked about. This site along my family will make this my last quit. I've never gone 5 days without a dip in over 20 years. Feels good. But, for me the first 3 days were absolute living hell!! I didn't think I was going to make it. Texting the people on this site was the only thing that got me to day 4. Don't be afraid to use them. One of these days it will be us helping those that join after us.

Made the decsion, close to retirement and now is the right time to quit. I am telling nobody around me because mentally it is my battle. I do realize that I am an addict and can't touch or replace it. I have been dippin for about 16yrs, started in the military and gonna end in the military. I have tried replacing it with cigars, redmann, tried the patch and the gumm and still back to it, it has kicked my ass and I will never be stronger than it. I am in control of me using it not it tempting me. I am pwerless against this demon, but I have the decision to quit or not. I hate 7 day soldiers ( 7 days in a weak) but in this case I am the weak one. I dont know about the future and will go day by day but for tonight I am dip free. Take Care and keep your feet and knees together...Oh yeah my bio, I am in New England, originally from Wisconsin, been in the Military 24yrs and have a wife and 2 great kids. GO PACK!
Welcome Lunk,

I'm a New Englander, born and raised here in MA.
Do yourself a favor and root for the Patriots this Sunday, save yourself the pain of rooting for the Pack.

Now, back to your Quit. IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!!
You can do this. How do I know? Because I'm doing it!!! I tried to Quit many times with the gum/lozenge/patch but it never worked. Always went back to the can. But then I found this site and it changed my life.
Read as much as you can, post roll every day.

PM me if I can be of any assistance, I'll gladly give you my cell# if you need it.

Also, thank you for your military service. I'm an Army man myself (20 years ago).

Brian

Welcome lunk! Like you, I tried every form of nicotine to try to "quit" dipping. Like Greg5280 said it doesn't work and the only way we do it here is cold turkey. I'm still a noob here at 34 days quit. My best advise for you is to follow our program, post roll everyday, and take it one day at a time. Read everything on this site! If you need a number, send me a pm.
