WTG! hang in there,  you will feel so much more alive without all thoughs toxic, cancer causing chemicals coursing through your blood. The worst days for me was day 1, day 2 I fugured"well I made it one day, I can make it another" Take it one day at a time, one hour if you need  and every minuet if you have to. You are in for a battle, but it is a battle you can win.

This is Sparta!!
Edit.

I seen you joined today so I figured you quit today. Keep it up.

Yea the calm/ crave cycle will grow shorter and farther apart. At first its more craves than you can count and over time they become weaker and weaker, but are just as dangerous. A few weeks in you may notice you go from being okay to a constant thinking about dip. I call these "longings". You miss that feeling and you want it again, it’s like ending a relationship. That feeling too will pass. The cravings are not like in the beginning, these longings could last a day or more. Your brain is trying to find a way to trick you into "Just one more fix" or “I’d rather dipper than go through these rough patches”. That feeling will pass, but be extra careful not to find a reason to dip. I see it, as the cravings get farther and farther apart, and are getting weaker, last longer and longer. I feel, eventually we will reach a point of total stability, It will take time and effort, but you have a great network here to work with. Post roll every day and take it one day at a time.
I quit with you. 'Sno'

I am at just over a month quit and am experiencing the "longings" as well. The nicotine addiction will definitely fade and then the "habit" becomes the issue. Surprisingly, you will find yourself halfway through something that could be a huge trigger - deer hunting for me- and realize you are doing it without a dip and feel just fine. That's when you know the whole thing is a fucking mind game...you don't need the dip and never did - you just think you do. It pisses me off that I was and still am so weak and easily controlled by something so fucking stupid. The freedom and self-respect become the motivator.
You are so right saying the whole thing is a fucking mind game. We don't need it, we just need food, water, and to stay warm. What a dumb habit we have and every time I crave one I think of how stupid it is. I will requit every day as long as I never have to buy another tin.

I chewed during every important moment of my adult life. I quit cold turkey almost 2 weeks ago. I was having a hard time today and came across this site because I wanted to know why my cravings are getting stronger. It's good to know there are so many experiencing the same thing. I can promise I have come too far to turn back now. 100 days, here I come!
Worry about today Mike, you start looking ahead and this gets unbearable.

We quit today, nothing else. Welcome to the best decision you have ever made.
A promise not kept is the road to exile.

If quitting is cool, consider me Myles Davis.

Unless you bring value onto my 1/2 acre, I don't want to hear it.

2 weeks is a pretty standard rough spot. I hate to tell you this but there are many more to come. Spend the time here to educate and prepare yourself.

Welcome to the site and congrats on your choice to be free.
