Hey bud, I am on day 5 and I can feel what you're feeling. I tell all my friends and family that I AM quitting and I am proud and that my mind is already made up. If you want, I can give you my number if you have a shitty day cause I'm getting them too. You're winning one day at a time.
Htomlin1: let me know if you got my PM, I'm still figuring out how to work this site. Thanks

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. After over 10 years of being a user, I'm 7 days into actually quitting this time. I'm sure you catch my drift, but I can really say that this time I WANT to quit.

Even though it's like I'm in an all out war with myself, I do feel like I'm winning.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello. And it seems to help me right now to tell people that I've quit. And it'd be weird to tell people I know (who never knew I dipped) that I quit. So, thanks for listening.

Don't just tell people, promise us each day. That's what we do here. Go the Salmon-pink colored welcome center in the upper left hand corner and read everything there. You'll see what I mean. It's called roll call, and I've promised no nicotine and kept that promise one day at a time for 496 days and counting (and I was a 1.5 can/day or so dipper for 23 years).

If you are man of your word and you give it every day, you will be free.

Read EVERYTHING here. It helps.

Oh, and you're not in a war with yourself, you are in a war with your addiction. Yourself is the guy doing the fighting and the one who will be left standing after every battle you win with your addicted mind. Eventually, it gets better.

Welcome aboard.
