Eric, you have posted roll today in your month of May 16 so you have given us your word that you will not shove cancer in your face for the next 24 hours. You are a man of your word right? That's how this place works, wake up and post roll first thing in the morning then keep your word for the next 24 hours, then repeat. We only quit one day at a time here, don't worry about forever just today. Make sure to drink plenty of water as you are going to be in "the suck" for the next 72 hours as you body flushes the nicotine out of your system. Find something to use to battle the craves, seeds, gum, fake chew, coffee grounds whatever it takes to not shove cancer in your face. Reach out to other quitters in your group as they will help you to save your life if you let them, get to know them, trade digits so that when the shit gets deep you can reach out to them and they can talk you off the cliff. You can do this Eric, check your Inbox, upper left hand corner as I have sent you my digits. Quit with you today.
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse. 02/05/15 9am

Hello Eric. We don't "hope" to quit or "need" to quit... we have to quit. Every day we use is another day we lose to nicotine. I have spent time working in social services, and know it can be stressful. But the risk is not worth the reward!

As a social worker, you should strive to uphold the NASW Code of Ethics, one of which is "Dignity and Worth of a Person". How can you uphold that value as you stick this terrible substance in your piehole? Doesn't it kind of make it look like you don't value your own life?
"The key is that daily promise. Once it is made, there isn't a trigger big enough to cause me to cave. Provided you are all men of your word, you too will find freedom from this vile shit."-Rkymtnman

Lets do this
« on: January 31, 2016, 03:40:00 AM »
Hey everyone, my name is Eric, I live in Michigan, and I am a social worker. I have been chewing for 4 years now. I started when I was in college, it was a great buzz and all of my friends/roommates chewed. Eventually I started doing it more and more until I was chewing all the time. I want to quit. I need to quit. I am hoping to get some support to help keep me on track. Thanks in advance!
