Great choice! Come on in and get your quit on. Embrace the suck...the pain is the feelin' of healin'.

Remember the suck as well as you can. Think about it. Concentrate on what it feels like and all of the mind tricks the Nic Bitch tries to play on you. She will stop at nothing to make you rationalize "just one more."

Tell her to fuck off each day by posting roll and promising yourself and everyone on this site that no matter what the fuck happens, you will not put any of that shit in your face today so help you God.

Then keep your word, brother. Congrats!!!

Good for you for starting your quit.

First off, beginning a quit now is good for expanding your family. Nicotine makes your boys lazy. Lazy boys do not make kids.

Secondly, it is not a"habit". It is an addiction and that is the way it should be treated.

We post roll call here when we quit. It is the most important part of your quit. It is your promise not to use. Take a venture over to the "quit groups" section. Find the group"November 2011" and post roll per the instructions there.

You will always be an addict in your quest. You cannot control your addiction. You can only control your actions. There is no more chew ever in your life. I had 1 after a 3 year quit. Within 4 months, I was letting my addiction run my life again.

Look at your private messages (upper left hand). I sent you one with my number. Text me and I'll have yours. I quit 29 days ago and I don't ever want to relive these first few days again. I will remember them though.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Just as a building starts with architectural drawings. Your daily quit begins with a promise.-Scowick 2/13

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

I want everyone to be quit. Even the assholes.-Probe1957 1/18

Ignoring history or erasing history fixes nothing and leads you inevitably down the same path.-69franx 04/30/2021

Nice day one! Welcome to "the suck". There is great support here. Get some numbers of folks inside and outside your group. Accountability is the key.

A couple of points of caution: don't worry about the friendships just yet. Build your quit first and foremost. The friendships will materialize later. This is a QUIT site first. Secondly: make sure you are quitting for YOU. I understand quitting because of family, but adapt the mindset that it's quit or die. We are just that serious about it, and that is a fact.

I wish I had been smart enough to quit before I "grew" my family. Let me know I you need anything.

Welcome aboard JBuckland!. First thing you need to do is find your quit group and make your commitment to that group and post roll everyday. I would also read, read and read more on this site. We are all here to help so shoot me a PM if you need anything.
