Nice work Jason. Now that your proposed quit day has arrived and you had the party and the neighbors brought over the badminton set and the town put up the banners and such...are you ready to fight for it? Are you ready to lunge into the briar patch to grab it?

Cold Turkey quit or trying with the mints/gum/suppositories? You told your wife the plan; now tell Uncle Smokey.

Jason,

Good decision to quit. I've got a couple of things for you...

1. Quit now. Right fucking now. Take out your lipper and flush any tins you have down the toilet. Now. There is nothing that makes tomorrow better than now. It's not special. The carcinogens in tobacco act randomly, but surely. They fuck with the DNA of your cells. Most of the time, they fuck up parts of your DNA that don't matter, but sometimes the section of dna is important. The longer you have that death weed in your lip, the greater the chances it hits one of those important sections. Could be the very lipper you have in right now that ends up killing you. Quit now. Quit now. Quit now.

2. KTC is founded on the simple action of posting roll each day as your promise to not ingest nicotine that day. It is a promise, and not a status report, so that roll call should be posted as early as humanly possible. It isn't always convenient, but quitting needs to be your FIRST priority. Post roll, be a man and keep your word, and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

3. Get involved here. The first couple of days suck, and being informed about what is going on helps. Read your ass off and get educated. It also helps to get through the craves. I read though every post in the pre HOF quit groups, read a HOF speech or two, and sometimes jump into chat every day. Still. I'm 60 days into my quit and I still need help... You'll definitely need it. The more involved you are, the more accountable you are.

4. Get phone numbers and give yours out. Folks here are more than willing to text or talk you through a crave, and if you go MIA, folks can get a hold of you to make sure you're okay. If you're hesitant to go to that level of accountability, ask yourself why that is.

5. Lastly, quit now. You are in control of your actions. You will love the freedom when you don't have to finger band a can all the time, so get to quitting. Now.

Let me know if you want my help.

Stay quit... it is life or death and that is the undeniable truth.

Like everyone else here, I am an addict. Here's a link to my addict talk and the responses of the people wise enough to see through it and call me out. I'm glad I decided not to follow my plan and wait for my fake chew to arrive in the mail. I'm glad that I listened to the people on this site and embraced the "Quit Now" mentality. The only difference between today and tomorrow is the fact that you can do today right now. Who knows what kind of excuses tomorrow's going to bring. If you can't quit today, what makes you think you can quit tomorrow?

The problem is not the problem.  The problem is your attitude about the problem.  Do you understand?

Hey ajh. Here's a piece of advice--quit today. Smack the nic bitch in the face and quit right now. Ask yourself, is it me or is it nicotine that says quit tomorrow. If you've got half a brain in your head you'll realize that you need to quit right now and that it is nicotine that is telling you to quit tomorrow. From personal experience, no one likes tomorrow talk around here so sack up and quit now. YOU CAN DO IT!

Hey everybody,

My name is Jason and tomorrow is my quit date. This is not the first tiime I have tried quitting but I am determined that iit will be the last. I started out smoking and when I decided to quit that I used nicotine mints to wean myself off of the smokes. After running out of mints one day I bummed a chew off a buddy and things went from there. Now it seems like lately I constantly have a chew in. I find myself lying to my wife about it and hiding it from my kids. I've finally had enough. I'm done. I've made my plan, talked to my wife about it, and set my date. Tomorrow morning I will be posting roll call (if I can figure out how to do it) and looking to you guys to help get me through the bad craves when they show up. Thank you in advance for that!
Why not dump everything out now and post day 1 in october tonight? There is no better time than now.

As someone once sang, tomorrpow, tomorrow, your only a day away.

Basically, there will always be some reason why tomorrow doesn't work to quit. Do it now, you will feel better. Or maybe you are holding out for that one last chew. That perfect last chew. That wonderful, sweet fatty.

Unless, that's the one that gives you cancer and causes you to lose half your face.

But hey, tomorrow is only a day awayh right?
