Bobby - Spend some time reading this site. When you came to the site before, did you see that we are here to fight nicotine together - one day at a time? You can do it and you found the right place.

Dump all nic and join the quit!
Don't be afraid.  You are not alone.

Nothing to add here. Dump it and come back. You're addicted to the nicotine, not the tobacco.

Hey fellas,

New member here. Been on the site before but never really committed until my dad did and urged me to as well. Im 24 and have been dipping since freshman year in high school. So 10 years or so. Time to be done for me.

I have been to this site before but was urged by friends/family and not myself. Its been almost 2 weeks but i have been supplementing with something called ZYN. Im not here to advertise but its basically nicotine gum in a pouch. May be helpful for some since i hate the nicotine gum as well. May be worth a try if you have access.

Anyway, Good to be here. hope to offer help to some as well as ask for help when i inevitably need it.

Bobby,

Good to see you, too. I'd congratulate you on being quit except...you're not quit. Being quit involves cessation of *all* nicotine, not just tobacco.

So...if you wish to be quit for real...dump all nicotine, including those little pouches. If it contains nicotine, it goes. Treat yourself to The Very Last Dip Ever if you wish - I did - but do dump it all down the garbage hatch. Then come back here, find your home group, and start posting roll.

Quitting nicotine seems hard; it really isn't. Suck it up for 72 hours; that is how long it takes for nicotine to be completely metabolized and removed from the bloodstream. Drink lots of cranberry juice - that will help metabolize nicotine faster, and the sugars will make the craves easier. Once that 72 hours is over, you are now nicotine-free. The only condition for this freedom is no nicotine ever again - just one hit of nicotine brings the addiction back. I recommend you read my signature line for more info on that topic.

I shan't lie - your first week clean will be hell. But it is so, so, SO worth it! I'm here to tell you, by the time you hit 30 days clean, you'll look back at your first week and wonder what the bloody blazes you were stressing about! ;o)

So...ready for REAL freedom? Want a real adult's Cold Turkey quit, as opposed to the cowardly chicken quit of Nicotine Replacement Therapy? Dump the nicotine, then get back to us. Until then...we cannot help you. Don't be scared - we have all walked this path before. We are all very happy to help new quitters. But you MUST be off ALL nicotine, FULLSTOP!

Really consider what I've written here. Then get back to us when you're ready to stop all nicotine...but not until.

Regards,
Jim H.

P.S.: One last thing: You posted a quit date as 9 January 2017. This is in error; your true quit date will be the date you dumped all your nicotine as a strong adult for a strong adult's Cold Turkey. The cowardly chicken 'quit' of Nicotine Replacement Therapy is not a true quit.
Bobby,
I am 13 days in, I have been in your shoes. Signed up went away. Came back. And I know it sounds hard to do but you need quit. Frobozz may sound hard core, but he is not lying. You are an addict. I am an addict. We are all here because we are addicts. You need to address the prison guard that keeps you taking the dip. That voice does not control you. Acknowledging the voice of the addict was very helpful for me. Message me when you decide to post roll. I will be looking for your roll.
It will be the best thing you have done for your life.
Tony
