I've been lurking for a few days.
Been dipping for 20 years. A couple of weeks ago I decided out of the blue that I was going to cut down. After a few days of that I said screw it and decided to quit. Last Saturday was my last dip and I started chewing nic gum. Well this past Wednesday I just decided to go all in and stop using nicotine period.
I really don't know where the desire to quit came from, but I have it now.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were rough. But today has been the worst. I knew the weekend was going to suck but I underestimated how bad. But then again it made me realize that I'm going to need help. So here I am. Glad you guys and gals are here.
You've been dipping for 20 years and don't know where the desire to quit came from? Unless you're a complete moron, quitting is the only logical choice for any nicotine addict. Off the top of my head:
1. You are a slave to nic. It comes before everything else.
2. Using nic assures you of diminished health, at best, and a horrible fucking death at worst.
3. One fucking dollar is too much money to spend on a chopped up weed in a can with poisons that have been added to keep you addicted, much less however much money you spend per year. (I've been quit six months and have saved a grand).
4. You don't enjoy dipping. You just don't enjoy NOT dipping. It's because you're addicted. Once you realize that, it should piss you off.
I'm glad you're quit and I'm glad you're here. You said you came for help. Go read the pink WELCOME CENTER link above and get familiar with roll call and why we post roll. Then go post your promise to remain nic free in the October 2011 group. Good to be quit with you.
