Medic, first off thank you for your service, you are truly an American hero and a bad ass. All I can tell you is if this is something you truly want it's not as hard as you may think it will be. With that being said it won't be easy at all, but wanting to be done with this addiction will go a long ways in your quit. Considering where you are what you do, you are going to have find new ways to deal with the stress you face daily, but I have no doubts you can do this. If you need any help, advice, or just need somebody to rip shoot me a PM I'll be glad to help you.

Medic, I can't add much but I wanted to throw my big thank you to you for your service. Being addicted to nicotine sucks and being a dumb ass addict that is poisoning yourself not only sucks but is just fucking stupid. I fed my addiction for 40 damn years and regretted it daily but was a pussy slave. Last year I took control and told the bitch to fuck off-- and I have repeated it everyday since. Not much I can add other than it is going to be pure unadulterated fucking hell if it is anything like my quit. Get ready set yourself up by using this site, I realize that may be hard in your situation but do the best you can to post roll. (others may disagree with me) We usually go ape shit as a group on anyone that has an erratic roll post but your case is a little different if you absolutely don't have access. Write it down and then keep your word. I would be proud to quit with you bro.

Hey everyone, it is currently 3 am here in the Middle East and I just got back from a patrol. I'm currently serving as a 68W line medic with the army. While on my patrol I decided that the dip I had in was gona be my last, so I handed what was left of my Copenhagen Long Cut Original blend to one of my guys and said fuck it tonight is the night. Lately I just feel like I have been dippin to much, kind of chain dipping so to speak and it has alot to do with our current situation. My mouth is pretty torn up, and I have been getting some sore throats occasionally. I have been dipping ever since I joined the army, goin on five years ago. If you ever have served you should know that about 90% of the army uses chew. I know what alot of you may think, this is probably the worse place to quit, trust me everyone has been tellin me that including my partner the other medic here who also dips a can or more a day. I am fully aware of that but that is why I've decided to take the challenge because If I can quit here then I know for a fact I won't pick the can back up again when I get home. This isn't my first rodeo in the desert. I know first hand how bad it can get and how good a nice fat dip can be when your stressed. But I'm going to pursue it anyway. So with that being said, I'm glad I decided to post and I will check in with this forum as often as I can. Looking forward to getting past these first three days and proving my partner wrong haha.

Thanks for your service! I can't imagine the stresses involved, but I can imagine that a dependency on nicotine would only serve to amplify any feelings of stress.

Kind of ironic that the majority of those willing to risk their lives in order to promote and protect freedom are a slave to the can themselves.

You can do this. One day at a time. Chew never solves our real problems. It just creates new problems that it can then temporarily patch.

Man - sounds like you are in the best spot in the world to quit (wherever you are) picked the best day to quit too (today). Damn nice start right there - why not keep quitting the right way? Start with a read of the welcome center, then go post roll with your new brothers over in the August quit group. Use this place to ask questions or to record your thoughts. This is the place to be if you're set to quit.
