Thanks Hogan!
On another note, I've looked but haven't found any information yet. Anyone out there insulin dependent diabetic and have some tips/info on whether or not quitting affected their insulin usage, morning fasting sugars etc.? I did notice one article that said quitting lowered blood sugars. If that's true, then I may need to really look at my insulin usage. *Feels a rant coming on* In fact here it is.

Why is it that the medical community has focused so much on smoking cessation?? I mean, it's a good thing, but there's nothing for chewing tobacco cessation. I've been talked to over and over about how they have all this support for cigarette cessation but when I ask if there were chewing tobacco support groups, the answer is the same. I get this blank look and then finally the admission that there is no such thing. Ok, rant over. Guess that's part of the rage coming on for Day 1, hehe. Think I'm gonna go drink some more water and maybe have a salad of some sort.

Oh, another quick question. I've read about how to read and post, read and post during these trying times. Do I continue to post on this post?

Thanks for the vent :)
Welcome two. We post roll every day here at ktc. What that means is you find your group which is Oct 15 post now and every morning, first thing when and after you piss. What that means is you just promised all your brothers and sisters you will not use nicotine for that day. It's all based on your word. My word means alot to me and I'm sure it does to you so if you post daily and keep your word you cannot fail. May sound crazy but I'm a 38 year addict on day 197 of freedom! Go to welcome center on the opening page and it will show you how to Post Roll. Get it done now and watch the welcome party begin. As far as been a dickhead toward the family don't blame them they didn't put the shit in your mouth, so let's learn to feel it coming on and man up ,walk away. I quit with you today!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Hello and Welcome,
As a new guy myself around here I want to welcome you. When I first posted some of the older guys/girls made me feel welcome and I want to do the same to others. When you get a chance, just start clicking through the website, you never know what you will find. I read something new here everyday and it has helped me stay on track with my quit. Just over three weeks now. Feel free to reach out anytime you may need or want support!

Thank you both for answering! I've read the "What to expect" scene and whoa, the first part is true right now. I'm definitely walking in the fog.

Oh yeah, tons of info for you.

First priority is to Post roll early and every day. That's your promise not to use tobacco OR nicotine in any form... but don't let your accountability begin and end here - build it in so everyone knows you are quitting and they should hold you accountable (wife/gf, family, friends, coworkers, etc).

- DRINK WATER. If you pass the restroom without having to piss, you aren't drinking enough.
- Educate yourself: this site has tons of information and helps for the detox/withdrawal you are going through, so poke around and see what you can find.
Reach out and network with your quit group, which you can find at Pre-HOF October 2015 group
I was a ninja dipper, but I will have a berserker quit - Here's some encouragement

NEVER Ring the Bell! Watch this. It will change your life.

When a crave hits watch this.

"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be Kind Always."

?Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence. I am not remotely interested in just being good. ? ~ Vince Lombardi

"We all have our own demons that we face on a day to day basis. Some we can talk to others about. Some that we have to work through on our own. ...the nic bitch continues to knock on the doors my friends. Stay strong, stay vigilant." - Fireheeler; 6/11/14 in AUG14

Never cured, but quitting like this

What cost is too high?

Hiya everyone,
My name is Terry and I've been dipping/chewing since 1983. I have quit once for a year, but non stop since that time. Today is Day 1 for me and I've emptied my last can into the toilet after having bought some Smokey Mountain, which I must say has a decent taste to it and lasts quite a while. Looking forward to the interaction with you all because I'm going to definitely need help with this go round. It's only been a few hours since I've made this decision and I'm seriously having to remember not to bitch and moan at my wife. What did you all do when you found yourself getting cranky and impatient with family?
Welcome. When you get cranky get on here and read everything you can. Make sure you follow the path here.
