Congrats on day 3! Just keep going day by day, minute by minute and let tomorrow take care of itself.
Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

thanks for all the great words. I was wondering if anyone else has ever done this? I hear about people caving due to triggers which are basically normal life occurences, only we addicts attribute those occurences with a dip in our mouth. That being said i did this last night may have been a bad idea but worked for me. I went out last night to watch the football game and play Golden tee with some friends. I read the site and the suggestion of not drinking alcohol for at least 40 days or more but i wanted to get this shit out of the way). This is a huge trigger cause 4 of my friends i was with chew and we were in a bar hanging out, but i figureded if i could beat my main trigger on the hardest day ever, my first quit day, i was going to be golden. In the begining it was the hardest thing i ever had to do in my life. As the night went on it got easier, the urge was there but fought it hard and by the nights end I was Chew free!!!!. I jumped in my truck tossed in a big jolly rancher and headed home. I WON...

i only ask this and tell this because you are always going to have triggers for me felt better getting them out of the way in the begining rather than to anticipate when the were going to happen, i made it happen. Worked for me thought i would share don't really recommend.

STAY THE QUIT!!
That's what I'm fucking talking about, Rob!! This shit may get harder or it may get easier as its different for everybody. But I can tell you one thing. No matter how hard it gets, the freedom of knowing that you are beating the nic bitch one day at a time is a feeling like no other. Do your friends know that you quit? If not you should let them know. And if they're going to offer you dip or try and force you into dipping then its time to think things over and decide if they're worth having as friends or not. I can't keep you quit, your wife and kids can't keep you quit, etc. Only you can. Take it day by day hell minute by minute if you have to at first to help you get over the suck. One of these days you'll have a feeling that everything is lifting off of you and things return to normal so to speak. Well maybe not ever normal, but doable.
I'm here for you should you ever need anything. Post in your group, post in some of the other groups above the line, post in some of the groups with the vets. Anybody and everybody will be able to help you out differently and in a positive way.

Quit with you today my friend. Keep it up!

where do you post to shoot the shit,or start a topic? i tried in general discussion, wouldnt let me this is the only place i can post but i think introduction, should be just for that, introduction, any help would be great i could be missing something
thanks
Use your introduction page as your quit journal. Post here about your victories and struggles.

Don't make a new topic just reply and add to your journal. After some time, you'll love to read and remember what the suck was like. It helps to empathize with new quitters. Humans tend to forget pain so having it documented helps relate to those intrenched in the suck.

General discussions should mostly be done in your group. (where you post roll)

You are closet in time with your group. Posting comments or thoughts with your group helps introduce and grow into a good brotherhood.

Like your record. My thought, triggers will come and find you, you don't need to seek them out. Great win and stay undefeated today by only worring about today's match. Yesterday already collected dust, today is the focus and tomorrow is too far away to even think about.

Keep winning. Knock ythe nic bitch out and for good measure, take a knife and cut her throat before she wakes!

hello everyone my name is rob i am 30 years old and i have been chewing for about 15 years(skoal mint was my flavor of choice).  I have been wanting to to quit but kept putting it off,my wife has always been against the habit and asked me when i was going to quit.  My reply to her was "when i have a defining moment in my life" (pretty stupid reason should just quit because it is bad).  Anyway we were trying to start a family and had complications, then we we blessed with her being pregnant with twins.  I cant think of any more of a defining moment than that!  I want to be here for my wife and my new family and myself that is why im ready to kill the can.  Any help advice and wisdom will be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!!
Defining moments are great and emotional but when live gets back to hum drum and kids are pissing you off, your wife is bitching about everything and you feel like everyone is criticizing you...

Think a defining moment will keep you quit?

I don't think you will fail because you are weak. I am weak but I am undefeated here. 305 wins 0 losses to nicotine.

I quit because I was just so fucking sick that I was 42 and had to sneak around to hump a can of Skoal. My mistress of nicotine was an absolute liar and I lived my life for her. What did I get in return??? Not a damn thing. Buzz? Very rarely did I even buzz. The cost, the worry of getting caught and still getting caught by my kids and wife?

I quit because I wanted to!!

You will fail if you quit for a good reason. You will fail if you quit for your wife, family, God, a defining moment etc. all good reasons to stay quit but the true quitter succeeds when they quit because they want to quit for them.

You have to want to no longer be humping a can...ever. Do you look at a can and get pissed that it rules you?

Quit for you, no one else and you will succeed.

Rob, I have one suggestion for you and your wife, that is that it generally accepted that it takes 21 days to break a habit but a addiction is with you for life! You are an addict !

Ok rob, Nice time is over!. Are you ready to make the committment to do the hardest thing you have ever done in your life?

This quit is going to suck more than anything for the next 4 or 5 days. You will be a bitch but try not to take it out on your family. Come and rage here. We know what you are going through because we have all been there.

Learn how to post the roll, do it everyday, this is your word to your quit brothers that you will not use nicotine that day. Are you a man of your word Rob? If you are then lets get going.

check your inbox you have mail. I've sent you my digits. collect some more from the guys here. especially collect numbers from guys in your own quit group. This is vitally important to how strong your quit will be.

Now get busy quitting and living instead of dipping and dying!

Mike
