Thank you. It's will be the 13th in the morning. I dumped my last can down the toilet. The journey now begins. Thank you for the support
Billy
I believe what Stranger was trying to point out is that you have it as 12/13/2015, or December 13, 2015, it should be 11/13, or November.

Anyways, welcome Billy! The withdrawals are definitely going to suck, but no matter, you are stronger than them! They say the blood will get rid of all nicotine in 72 hours, and after that its all mind games. The best time to quit is now! Get through the first few days and you won't have to go through them again. Unfortunately we can't stop time, the world, or our jobs so you're going to have to tough it out. The first 3 days of my quit, first week even, I felt a little loopy at work but I powered through (also I had some understanding coworkers).

You said you test next month for departments.. get through one day at a time (ODAAT) and post roll every damn day (EDD), and I think you will see when week 4 rolls around your fears and worries will be all in your head.

Post roll and get acclimated in your quit group. Based on your quit date yours would be February 2016. Check it out here.

I would definitely recommend getting alternative snuff (or sunflower seeds/gum if you prefer) as they helped me early on in my quit.

I quit with you today Billy.
Shame. Never came back. Waste of energy.
At least his clothes will be very clean after all that washing.

There is only one thing that works that I know of to quit. Posting roll here on Ktc. Daily.

Right now you are probably thinking... Post roll? Wtf is this dude talking about? Why would I do that? I just need a little support for a few days til my energy picks up or whatever.

Dude, posting roll is the cornerstone of this place. It works when nothing else does. I chewed a can of Kodiak a day for 25 years and almost every day I promised myself that I was done. Now I promise a whole bunch of other people every day that I will be nicotine free just for the day. It is impossible, if you are a man of your word (and from your introduction it would seem that you are) to lie to your team that is going through the same shit you are at the same time. These people that you post roll with know what you are experiencing. They are fighting side by side with you. And they need you just like you need them. A team is stronger than an individual.

Nicotine is a formidable opponent. As addictive as heroin. A can has 3x the nicotine as a pack of smokes. That means you are a 6-9 pack a day addict. Listen dude - you can do this. Your life will be sooooo much better... You will feel better and have a sense of pride that you can't even believe. But you have got to start out right. Get your name on roll. There is an army waiting to support you here at Ktc

One more thing - how you feel right now is not the future. The future is awesome. Sounds crazy... But lower blood pressure isn't the biggest win you will get from quitting. Freedom is. Not constantly reaching for a can. Freaking out when your brand is gone. Driving in panic mode st 1am thru da hood to find an open store. Lying. Hiding. Shame. We've all been there. Your blood pressure will fix itself. But what is ahead - the new freedom - you are going to love.

Get your name on roll. Seize the day. If I can help - let me know. My number is yours for the asking.

I'm quit with you today.
yep get your name on roll. here
If I may my friend, try to look at quitting as something you want to do, not that you have to. When you really learn to hate this shit and understand how in so many ways, that I'm sure you don't even know just like the rest of us before we quit it will make it somewhat easier. Get on roll now, if you haven't already and have so many people reaching out to help you, post roll and loads of advice will follow. I quit with you today!
Pab is right. I look forward to coming here everyday and posting that promise to my quit brothers and sisters that I will not let them down today, no matter the circumstances. Dip never made a single thing in your life better. It certainly won't after you've quit either.
"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317
"You need to decide how much you really want to be quit." - pky1520
We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597

Don't wait til those tests are over bud. We've all put off quitting until we got married, our kids were born, the next birthday, new years, anniversaries, blah blah blah. The only day you can KNOW you will be quit is today because it is the only day over which you have any semblance of control. It is scary at first, and quite the ride, but damnit the freedom W2W speaks of is FOR REAL. I relish in it every single day.

Post roll, quit your ass off today, wake up tomorrow and do it again. You can do this, we'll walk the walk right alongside you, but you have to do this for YOU.

Excellent choice Billy. That evil bastard cope longcut was my demon as well. Feel free at any point to message me I will be here for you.

The suck is on it's way but, you have got this. One day at a time.

Do not take anything out on your family or friends. Remember to walk away, this you brought on yourself no one else.

Did you let your doctor know you are quitting? If not please do because he/she will be able to help you in the long run. Myself, I made 3 trips midway through my quit when the anxietty hit, something I've never had an issue with. Any way after the 3rd trip I finally let him know what was going on, from that point he was able to treat me effectively.

Hang on for dear life and again post roll, make friends, get numbers embrace the suck that's coming for it is real and know you can do this! ODAAT. One day at a time.

I quit with you!

Fix your quit date first - it says 12/13. :P

Drink lots of water, when you can't drink anymore water drink some more water. Get some exercise when you can. Remember always that you put yourself into this position. It is no one else's fault that you are miserable being quit and no one else should need to feel your wrath. When you are angry post it here. Everyone here is an addict and can take it.

I quit with you today.

Made the choice to quit. Nervous, scared, but determined.
« on: November 13, 2015, 12:12:00 AM »
So after my blood pressure shooting up the last few days when my 2 can of copenhagen longcut habbit turned into an almost 3 can a day habbit, Ii have decided to quit. I shouldnt be chewing anyways after beating colon issues last year and cheating death, but damn it i keep putting that crap in my mouth. Soooo worried about the withdrawals. I have been in the car business sine i was 16 (im 35 now), and decided to give it all up a few months ago and become a police officer. I test next month for a few departments and am really worried about the fatigue you guys mentioned. I have no choice, I have to quit. I dont want to die from this shit. I could really use words of encouragement. I have canceled my coupons that i get by mail. Thrown out everything in my house, cleaned my truck, wash my clothes 3 times so they dont smell of that shit. I am going to buy Teaze energy packets to help with the oral fixations part of it. Any advice, any help would be appreciated.
