Time to quit at 37.  Been under the bear claws for about 23 years.  Started with the YAK and ending with the Griz.  Started doing pouches and cut down quite a bit, but back to 3/4 to a 1 can a day. It works just as well as you all say, "IT DOESN'T!"  It just isn't right when my 7 year old daughter goes to the gas station with me, we go to the counter and before I even get a word in she says "my daddy needs a Grizzly Pouch Wintergreen".  She saw me throw in a dip one day and with a terrified look on her face asks me what the black thing was I put in my mouth.  My wife has asked me to quit in the past too and I've made some pretty pathetic attempts lasting maybe til lunchtime that day.  I'd start getting the "FOG" as you say.  I didn't know what the hell was happening to me and gave in.  Going through this site geared me up and made me realize what I can expect.  It sounds like hell, but I'm ready to kill it.  Nobody asked me to quit this time, it's all me now.  Tossed half a can in the trash this morning when I put gas in the car.  I'm currently under a fog advisory...we'll see when it lifts.  Had to laugh at the "Ruining pillows" comment.  I've ruined a few perfectly good pillows myself!
Welcome to the quit Kernie. It's a great decesion. Clearly you've already done some reading around the site. That's a great start keep it up and head on over to the August group and post roll. Just focus on getting through 3 days...one minitue at a time ifyou have too. Once the nic is gone it's just a menatl fight...and it sounds like you got your head screwed on well enough to make it through that fight.
I would recommend getting something to replace the dip as well for the next couple of days...seeds, gum, hard candy, porn.

Plus score a phone number or two from your quit group. If you can't find any, send me a message and I will give you mine. These are nice to have if/when you feel you need to talk.

Stay Quit!
Welcome Kernie. Great decision man. I see you already posted day 1. Stick close to the site and post up anything you're going through. We've been there and can help. If a half-wit douchetard like me can do it, you can too. Stay strong and PM me if you need a number.
Thanks! I will.
Freaking awesome job, Kernie! I have 2 young children, and the fact that I dipped in front of them constantly is a huge regret.

Not any more. It's been 361 days since they've seen me do that.

It's going to be tough, but you are tougher. Keep that crap out of your mouth, and day by day, it will get better.

Quitting has never killed anyone. But since you are a father, you should read this.

Tom Kern's Story

Stay quit my friend, at all costs. Welcome aboard. PM me if you need anything.
