Welcome to the group, step in and drink the kool-aide, and post up and learn all about it. I have found with this site and the support, dont just dip your toe in the water get in here and get involved, makes you more accountable because you dont want to let anyone down.

Ok, man..... here's the deal as I see it.

First: welcome to the site. Glad you are here. The system here works, but you have to follow it completely. Post roll (promise of 24 hours). Keep your word. Repeat. In addition to that, you need to build a contact list. Seriously, reach out and get to know some folks. PM the ones who seem to have somthing in common. Anybody here will give you a number. That seemed real odd to me at first. I mean REAL odd. But, like the old saying goes: "It's only kinky the first time.". Having contacts is a huge part of what this place is about. Being able to call or text a fellow quitter during a weak moment is a big deal and has saved my quit more than once. I can't stress that enough.

Now, my $.02 about women:
1. Your girlfriend knew. We addicts aren't as ninja-like as we think.
2. "Cute redneck girls" are great at times. I dated several back in the day. Thankfully, I found a good looking country girl to marry, even though I was a disgusting addict.

Reach out if I can help you any way.

Welcome aboard.  The decision you made is the best one of your life.  Chase, you will be in the June quit group.  That is the group you will be with when you reach HOF (Hall of Fame) in 100 days.  Read all you can on here and check your inbox...it is on the upper right hand side of your KTC screen.  Post roll everyday and get some telephone numbers of folks in your group...they are a good bunch.  Be proud of your quit and reach out for help when you need it.  That is what we are all here for.  I sent you a pm with my telephone number, so call me 24/7 when you need to talk to someone.  See ya in the June group and in the live chat room if you have the time...it is what saved me from going nuts the first few weeks.  Again, welcome aboard the KTC quit train. Wayne
Thank you very much Wayne. I'm trying to figure out how to post roll from my iPhone because I don't get on the computer often. I appreciate your support and offer you the same help if ever needed. Oh boy am I ready for June.
It's doable from Android, too. A pain in the ass, but it's doable. Just standard copy/paste, but it's tricky.

Chase, welcome to the group! My story is almost the exact same as yours, and if I can do it you can to. Quit day by day, and get some phone numbers. I just sent you mine, so use it if you ever need anything. I will quit with you today brother.

It's time.
« on: March 12, 2013, 12:48:00 AM »
Well I just took what I hope was my last dip out of my cheek.

I've been dipping since I was fifteen with a short hiatus once I started dating my current girlfriend two years ago. Last October she and I got in a major fight and the temptation was too great, so I started again. Since then I've basically gone on a binge of dipping, sometimes finishing a can in a matter of hours, all without her knowing. Though I know she suspects.

To clarify I'm doing this for me, not her. Maybe a mix of "us" in there but mostly because I want to live to see the children and grandchildren I may have one day. I'm 22 and I don't want my life to be dictated by a $5.49 can of Skoal.

I don't get it. It doesn't even taste good but I can't go 4 hours without it. Morning, lunch, and before bed, unless I'm out with the guys then there's on in just about constantly. I mean what am I doing? I'm going to school to be a dentist for gosh sake I should know better.

The way I see it a quarter of my life has been consumed by the can and I know I may not be in as deep as most, but I want to kick it now before it does any more damage than it already has.

I'm getting about 4 cans a week. My immediate inspirations to quit right now are to flush my system so I can finally be healthy, and to set aside the money I would spend weekly in an envelope and save up to get the girl that "special ring" they all dream of. As cheesy as that may be.

I'd like to say I think it's awesome there's a community like this. Because I know tomorrow the temptation will be great and I will be irritable. But I am not going to put this off. I need to quit and make it stick. If anyone needs encouragement, I'm right there with y'all. In ready to be clean and healthy again like I used to.

Funny thing is I started because my buddies did it and I thought all the cute "redneck" girls would like me. Yeah, that didn't work..
