A Quit Plan: Do you have one?

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.
After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco. SportDad 1/13/05

Warm summer sun, shine kindly here;
Warm southern wind, blow softly here;
Green sod above, lie light, lie light.-
Good-night, dear heart, good-night.

Be silly, be honest, be kind

Chewed on and off (mostly on - can of Copenhagen every two days) since rugby in 1978. Long time for the dipping. Have stopped for up to one year a couple of times. Ski patrolling last year and talked to a guy who said he had done the same but quit on his 50th and hadn't dipped for 3 years. My wife and kids have had it. I'm tired of it and don't want to die quite yet.

I turned 50 on 8/23. Threw out all the tins the next morning (it's unbelievable how many places I had stashed a tin or two. I'm still finding nearly finished cans in drawers, pockets, gear bags, etc)

I've been gutting it since law school (23 years) and figure that can't be good either. Chew in court, with clients - I was good at it but I'm done.

Really glad that I stumbled on this site a day after I stopped. Keep me honest.

I will say that I have occassionally snorted some dry snuff since throwing out the tins.
welcome to the site elguapo!

head on over to december 2007 and post roll -- http://www.killthecan.org/roll/

buckle up the chinstrap cause its not going to be easy, but as you know, it CAN be done.

No more snorting dry snuff...No nicotine in any form, unless you are following one of those NRT programs (and if you are, I say stop and go cold turkey)

Welcome. I wouldn't be quit for 583 days if it weren't for this site.
