Welcome aboard Mwoodchip. Good to see you posting roll. Just remember the only way to screw it up is to not be on it. Another 30 year veteran of tobacco dumb-assery here so you have plenty of company. One suggestion as to someone who has gone through the phases you will going through this weekend. Really try hard not to take it out on your familly. Like RDB said, if you need to vent get on here and do it. Get some digits from guys in your group or PM me for mine if you want and call us up and bitch us out. Read through some of the nic rage fueled shit-storms or the venting thread under wildcard. Anything but taking it out on those you love and don't deserve it. They are rooting for you, don't sour that support. I quit with you for today.
Unlike quitting products, total adherence to a personal commitment to not violate the law of addiction provides a 100% guarantee of success. Although obedience may not always be easy, the law is clear, concise and simple - no nicotine today, not one puff, dip or chew!

The day you quit is day one. As long as you are committed to never again stuff a cat turd in your cheek, post roll right now.
Wouldn't be proper, I stuffed one in my lip this morning. Dumped the shit into the toilet at noon. Will post tomorrow. when it is official :)

I added the August group to my favorites, can't wait to post roll tomorrow. I'm already edgy but know it will fade.

Welcome Mike.

Check out the Welcome Center. Read how to Post Roll.

You are a member of the August Quit Group. That group is still pretty new, and it is shaping up nicely.

I was a 25 year user, at least a can a day. I've been Quit 97 days.

It sounds like you've got the right attitude. Embrace the suck. Once you get to the other side, you will have gained back a freedom you have forgotten existed.

Post roll everyday. Come here to vent when you are a monster A hole. We can not only handle it, we enjoy it a little bit.

Stay quit.

I quit today, after 30+ years today is the day. I was stuffing 2-3 cans in my lip daily and the time has come that I have had enough. Why today you ask? I have spent a month clearing my schedule so that I do not have to work, go to a family function or sporting event. Basically, so I have no excuse to leave the house. The next 4 days are going to effing suck, I am mentally ready for it. ( I think ) The wife and kids have been warned to give me some space and take nothing personally thru the weekend. I turn into a monster A hole during withdrawal. Bring on the emotional roller coaster and the fog, I can't wait to beat this monster.
