Hey everyone, a friend of mine recommended i check out this site and i think what you guys are doing is great.  I registered myself yesterday although I have been quit for 25 days now.  I know there is still a long road ahead of me, but feel confident now that i found this brotherhood / support system.  I am still figuring out new things with the site so im sure ill be more involved soon.
I wanted to introduce myself so here goes, My name is Tom, im 26 from Massachusetts (south of Boston).  I am currently on day 25 as i said above, and before that had been dipping for 11 years.  For the past 8 years id say about a can a day at least.  I have attempted to quit before, making all the way to about 3 months but I kept finding a reason to crave.  I recently got married and have been hiding my dipping from my wife for as long as she we've been dating and finally decided that i do not want to start a fmailly on a pile of lies and a disgusting habit.
I am looking foward to talking with guys in the same boat as me and never having another dip again. Feel free to drop a line and make any suggestions, or if you just need to let off some steam.

Welcome axp144.

If you haven't told your wife already about your dipping habit and quit, you probably should. You can use her support. Please pm me if you ever need anything.
I agree with Sigma, not only for the support but also for the accountability. Thank you for deciding to quit and you've made the right choice
I took your advice and told my wife... she wasnt happy that ive been keeping it from her, but very happy that ive decided to quit.... in the end im sure she will be supportive as long as i stay quit. staying quit is the whole idea
As you'll read, the more people to hold you accountable the better. It's like putting a big sign up that says "if you see me with dip in my mouth call me a pussy chickenshit and kick me in the balls" sounds rough but it works....

Yes, welcome! I see you've already found the October group, and you're posting roll call in there. When you post there, you're giving your word that you won't use nicotine that day. Then all you have to do is keep your word, and repeat the process the next day. Simple, huh? :D

Well, OK. I know there will be challenging days. Just keep the mental image of those first three days or so in your mind, and remember that you do NOT want to go through that again. That should keep you off the snoose.

Glad to have you along for the ride!
