Good stuff Steve. First of all, thanks for your service.

We've all been where you are bud, and that's why this place works. I'd be willing to bet you stayed up late to have a dip after you tucked your wife and son into bed. I'd be willing to bet that when there was an errand to run outside of the house, you gladly volunteered so you could get a quick one in before coming home. I'd be willing to bet that you've sat on the throne for 20 or more minutes so you could get one in there. That's the thing, we're all a bunch of addicts around here. Whether we acknowledged it while we were using or not, we were pulled around by nicotine's leash.

No longer. Use those teeth to bite right through that leash and free yourself once and for all. Seems like you've gotten off to a good start. Post roll and take advantage of what this site really has to offer: accountability and brotherhood.
"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317
"You need to decide how much you really want to be quit." - pky1520
We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597

Thanks for the support! I figure that I should post a little bit about me while I am here...

I have been happily married for going on 2 years and have a 10 month old son. I am in the Air Force, currently active but separating this November to pursue school full time.

My wife knew that I used to dip, I just down played how often and how much. A can would just barely last me a day. I would take a dip out, then a few minutes later put a fresh one back in. It was bad.

I noticed my son looking at my lip when I had a dip in, and I don't want him to know anything about this horrible stuff, so that was a big factor in me deciding to quit.

I will be posting in the Pre HOF September group and will begin to post Role. I have been doing really well, only really want a dip when sitting at the computer or on the throne.

Someone brought a log of Grizzly Wintergreen into work today, not to share, just bought it and pulled it out of the bag and it didn't even affect me.

I did make a pretty serious promise to the man above though. I promised that I will never do it again and I swore my life on it. I like my life. Its worth more than a dip.

Why be miserable alone? Post roll and meet some people going through the SUCK just like you.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.

Great decision Steve!
Post role in your group every day, EARLY! It should be the 1st thing you do, just like putting a dip in was the 1st thing you did when you were dipping. Send some of the guys in your group your digits. The website is about building accountability. You'll do that through posting roll, chatting with other members of the site, exchanging phone numbers so you can get hold of someone on the phone when you feel like you're about to crash and burn. You'll also want to read Intros and HOF speeches as time permits. There's a lot of good quit info in everyone's personal stories, as it pertains to their victories and there is also a lot to be learned from some of our failures.

Head over to the welcome center and learn to post role. forum/55560/

You'll be in the Pre HOF September group topic/11649440/

You can do this Steve! I quit with you today!
Just one and you will be back where you started.
And where you started was desperately wishing
you were where you are right now.

Hi Steve,

Post your pledge daily not to use today in the October group and then keep your promise.

Welcome and I quit with you today.
I serve a Big God who has blessed me beyond measure.. He has shown me more grace than anyone deserves, if I look good or right it is only him in me..

New quitter here
« on: June 28, 2016, 12:22:00 AM »
Just wanted to say hello to the community and introduce myself as a new quitter.

My name is Steve and I quit dipping 23 June 2016 after about 13 years and have been miserable since.

But I am at work now and should really get back to it.

Keep quitting!
