For the past ten years I have chewed a can or more a day. On July 15th 2016 I said 'Finger' nicotine. My wife showed me this site and then put up with me being a total ass for a couple weeks. Today is day 98 and I can't thank that woman enough. Although I've never posted, everytime I crave I open my browser to killthecan.org. It may get easier with time but my quit will never be over.
Sooo... if you've been ninja active you know how this works.
Do yourself a favor and get involved here. 98 days on your own is just badass. Jump into this site and I guarantee that your Quit will grow bigger muscles. Community helps bro... it really does.
Way to use this site and give back absolutely no support to your fellow quitters. Brotherhood is one of the pillars of this community. I'm glad you are quit but this place is more than that.
Like my brother said, if everyone just used the site like you there would be no brotherhood. Join the site post roll and help someone struggling grt where you are!
in the long run, three things really make a long-term quit possible. Knowledge of what you are fighting, regular, daily affirmations of your commitment, and a network for support and accountability. You really need to go through all of this work to make it last. Up till now, you've been watching others succeed, but not making it really happen for yourself. You have some catching up to do. Congratulations on taking the first step of putting yourself out there. Now start to really quit like you mean it, do it the way it's set out for you around here-- you have to OWN your quit- make it your own, take responsibility to do the the best you possibly can. I can tell you the challenges don't go away completely, at least in three years so far for me. The tools and network you build by doing it how it's recommended here, by others who have quit successfully before you, are what carries you through the challenges that sneak up in the future. It gets better, a lot better, with time. But it doesn't disappear. Keep up what you've started by being brave enough to put yourself out there finally!
