I am now at day 50 and doing great. My wife surprised me today with a card where she poured her heart out about how proud she is for me and my quit journey. Our relationship has never been better than now. Why the hell did I wait so long? Not too long ago I stopped for a few weeks for an insurance physical. It was absolute hell and I couldn't wait to chew again and was counting down the minutes. How pathetic and what a waste of effort. This time has been so much better simply because my mind is in a different place, no fear. I finally see the nic bitch for what she is, a dirty lying whore who was stealing my life. Thank you to my quit brothers for teaching me to not fear the quit but embrace it!
Right on Tige! I am convinced that me finally quitting possibly saved my marriage too. I never knew how much she loathed my chewing until I quit. I feel like such an ass for putting her through that for our whole marriage. There are so many great things about finally being free -Sayin? Congrats Bro!
Tige, keep doing what you are doing. You are winning one day at a time.
Quit with you.
I love posts that make my quit stronger, and this is one of those. You get it Tige, and I'll QLF with you EDD. Thank you for the post!

congratulation man! I am glad to hear I am not the only sneaker. Being a dipper is embarrassing, and even though it is less smelly, it is far less accepted than smoking. Thats why I always hid it. I'm on day 2 now going strong. It's weird not having my nightly "dip in shower". As crazy as that sounds something tells me that's probably the norm around here as well.

Do this and you can't lose.....and welcome to the asylum!
Cool man! I think you've chosen the number one resource to help you get through it. Countless numbers of stories, and successes here, but you have to use the program as intended. If you don't use the tools, then you may not succeed. Briefly:

1. Post roll every day without fail. Do this early, and do this daily without fail. No internet? Tough. See 2
2. Get some digits of vets (me if you'd like, just pm me) or quitters in your group and call/text them should you need someone to post for you, or you're considering caving. Very important thing to do.

Have you joined your quit group? Did you post roll? I see you have. EXCELLENT! I quit with you today friend!

its about time
« on: October 30, 2014, 05:44:00 PM »
I just found the introductions threads, so I am a little late.

I have now been nic free for 1 week!

I started smoking while partying at Texas AM. After college I married my amazing wife and started grad school. Staying up late and studying I decided to try dip to help....what a dumbass. I quickly became the ultimate "ninja" dipper. Of course the wife eventually found out, was horrified and I promised to stop. What a joke....we will have our 20 year anniversary in November. I have been busted too many times to count....I am done.
I am tired of sneaking around, hiding things, lying and being a selfish jerk.

My Dad has chewed my entire life, I do not want to pass this on to my son! I want to be a better person, father and husband.

I QUIT

its about damn time
