Hey everyone, im only 20 years old, been dipping since i was 18, i know it's not near as bad as being 40 and dipping for 20 years, but hey, i'm still addicted and i need yalls help. I have tried many times before to kick the habit, i had it up to 2 weeks without it, but i didnt have a group like this to back me up and support me. I'm excited yet nervous to go on this journey for a better health and longer life, i know its going to be tough as hell, but im willing to put myself through a temporary hell to recieve the good benefits. Thinking back when i started i was not addicted that bad, but its crazy once you start to do it all day, boom! it becomes something you relie on, its sad for a grown man to have to have a can of snuff just to make him feel comfortable or calm. So i'm joining you guys that are in the process of quiting and that have to quit to man up, suck it up, and quit!

Read the welcome center. Then read it again.

Read the intro posts both new and old. You're not alone.

My advice is just to read the the site so you have a really good idea of what is ahead of you.

More important than my advice to read the site is to follow the advice of the Vets. They know what works

Welcome.

Hey good choice! I'm one of those old guys, I'm 55 been addicted for over 38 yr. when I first quit 87 days ago I thought it made a difference but it doesn't were all addicts. We all have triggers and craves, we all go through detox, we all go through similar experiences in quitting nicotine!
Go to October quit groupAnd post roll, your daily promise to quit for today. That's all we ask, quit for 1 day. I Q.U.I.T. (Quit Under Intense Temptation) with you today! This really sucks but life and freedom are worth it.

Great choice brother!!

Remember addiction knows no age it doesnt care if you 20 and only chewed for 2 years or 40ish and chewed for 30 years!

Goto the welcome center and read all of whats expected of you and dont be afraid to ask for help there are some truly awesome people on this site going thru the same addiction as you....

You have made a good first step now make sure you read all you can on this site, knowledge is power and you will need the knowledge to get thru the first few days and weeks .....

I applaud the choice your making at an early age, take you life back and quit on quiter!!!

Welcome nxtop1221,

It's real simple here:
No nic at all. No dipping, no cigars, no cigs.
You post roll every morning (earlier the better)
Keep your word all day.
go to sleep, wake up and REPEAT.
WELCOME to HELL!
There are lots of vets of quit who have gone before us, so we know it CAN be DONE.
I also started dipping at age 20...man oh man, do I wish I'd never started. You're younger, it will be harder for you to quit and stay quit....I cannot explain it but it will be very hard for you.
You will have to work very, very hard to keep your quit! The vets here will help you understand why it is harder for the younger men. Just go to the "chat" room and get started.
All I can say about this "new" life is that it feels like "the matrix".
Do whatever you have to do to "not" put the poison in your mouth. WAter, seeds, candy, gum, some folks use fake dip.
Once you get through the harder parts, it is easy to say "I don't ever want to do those harder parts again!!!"
Cheers!
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.
It's poison I tell ya, You wouldn't drink Liquid Drano, would ya?
