OK - I am ready. No cans. Cleaned the truck out. No old spit bottles/cans. Tomorrow is the day. Thanks for the prequit support and pep talk.
Eric
Congrats brother, you know if you're really lucky, you'll be off work for four days and by the time you go back your systems will be nic-free. B)

Welcome to the board, congrats on your decision. I'm only on day 5, but with each others help you can slowly inch towards your goal.

I ended up starting my quit right at the same time my girlfriends period started, we were like dogs at each others throats for those few days, haha.

Already done. Now prepare for the in-laws. It's always tough when they come to town - they are great people and I really like them, but not much more than a weekend. THIS IS 5 DAYS! I figure, if I am going to suffer while they are here, I will make them suffer with me!

Hey,
I am quiting tomorrow (right before the inlaws come to town- not sure how smart that was but...) looking forward to the assistance you'll provide.

What else to say, I am tired of it even though I loved it. I guess there is a morbid love affair with the dip...
Eric
Welcome to the site, and congrats on a great decision. I would recommend flushing your tin right now. There's no sense in taking a chance that the last dip could be the bad dip, right? At any rate make sure that one more day doesn't turn into after the in-laws leave, then right after that December holiday, and why not make it a new years resolution. You get the picture, just flush it now and be done.

Stay close to the board. Drink tons of water, read, read, and post. Post roll and keep your word! Vent your rage right here. Buckle up, days 1-3 are rough but the freedom that is gained is well worth enduring the suck. Enbrace that time, it will help keep you quit when you need it.

If you need anything, ask away. There are lots of great people on this site that are willing (and eager) to help you any way they can. And the "magic" of it that they have all been where you are, and are living testaments that freedom from dip can be achieved.
I've always wanted to save a life, so I started with mine.
