32 years old, woke up Tuesday morning and just told myself "fuck it I'm done". Found this site at work Tuesday, read up for a few days and joined yesterday.
So, the story that we all know so well. High School (14) started chewing when the older football players handed me the kodiak. Was athlete so all through HS, college I had chew in from morning shower until last chew of the day.
Started smoking when I went to Iraq in 2003 (marine corps reserve activated). I was part of invasion force and low and behold no fucking chew within 90000000000 miles. I lived for the care packages to arrive with chew, but had to settle for cigs when I was out of the chew. So, 8 months later I come home fully addicted to smoking and chewing (yes, have a smoke throw in a chew right after).
I quit chewing and smoking when my daughter was born and started the old COMMIT lozenges (DO NOT USE THESE). I was addicted to those for about a year and finally the $45/ week price tag was too much and I went back to chew exclusively.
Well 18 years, 3 kids, and a lot of tarnished memories later I've had enough. I'll have to relearn how to do everything (drive, fish, camp, play sports, read, take a shower, watch a movie, work, and go to the park with my kids) to name a few.
