You've made some important first steps. Tossing the can AND realizing that you are an addict. That is a serious revelation. You must remember that one dip at any time from here on out, will probably lead you to dipping another 5 years or longer. Research from posts in here seem to indicate that when tards went back to the can, the nic bitch had a stronger hold on them and they dipped harder and more frequent than ever. My advice, stay off it. Get some numbers of fellow quitters and call them when the urge strikes. Go to the chat room and talk to folks in there. They will help.

Bulldawg,

Welcome to the Suck my friend. Embrace it. Nurture it. And if nothing else, Never FORGET IT! The suck is the price you must pay for freedom from this vial weed.

Take it one day at a time. Post roll early EVERDAY. and read, read, read. Information and Time are the bullets we use against the nic-bitch. Information strengthens you. Time heals you.

Syndrome, the welcome center is "red". As per Radman, I guess I'll figure out what the color means later.

By the way, how do I "post roll"?
you can find all you needs to no if you click on that WELCOME CENTER link up there. and tell us what coler it is.
'crackup' 'crackup'

Hang around long enough Bulldawg, and you'll understand the humor in that.

Don't worry about the color of the tab just yet, but do worry about your quit. Settle in, do some more reading and get some numbers. Like you, I was a good way into my quit before I landed here. The support is awesome. After 19 years, I have been quit 278 days thanks to this site. Let me know if I can help you any way.

This time I quit for good

Last dip May 22, 2011. Dipping or chewing for 35+ years. I quit once for more than 5 years. When my son started playing on a baseball team I began dipping. Have tried to quit for the last five years. The rationalizations are amazing. "I'll quit after just this one can"; I'll only dip at games; I'll only dip when I am outside. Ran across this website by accident, read several posts and realized, I am an addict. I do check back each day and check off another day nicotine free. As all of you know, the first baseball game, the first round of golf and the first time I cut the grass without dipping was TOUGH. One day at a time.
