Hi Pat. Once you decide to throw the shit in the toilet where it rightfully belongs, you will be a Day 1 quitter. Did you follow through on your plans to empty the shit out? Joining us means you will do a few things. First and foremost, you will post Roll. Roll is your daily promise to yourself and all of your new brothers and sisters that you will not use tobacco in any form that day. You will post your name and the number of days you are quit each day in the January 2014 quit group. Each and every day you will post your promise. No exceptions. That is the price of admission to KTC. Nothing more and nothing less. The reason you are put in January is that will be the month if you join us today that you will celebrate being 100 days free of nicotineÂ…your Hall of Fame date.
Now that you know the basics, it is time to read all you can on this site. Go to the welcome center and that will get you started. Post roll and look up at your inbox (1). That is a personal message from me with my telephone number. Congrats on taking back your life. Wayne
You have some serious bad ass quitters telling you how to get this done.
Now, if you still haven't done so, DUMP THE DIRT IN THE SH*TTER where it belongs. Then, Proudly post day 1.
Your life can be forever changed. It begins with that one simple act.

PD gave you some sound advice and just to add a thought process to what he described I would recommend that you prepare for this quit like it was a two week long camp out. You need to pack everything you will need (i.e. change of clothes, tent, ground cloth, sleeping bag, etc.).

When I first quit I relied on being able to readily find an alternative; I damn near caved twice out of angst. Then I learned to pack my "fuck off" bag. It is filled with gum, lifesavers, jolly ranchers, fake dip, two water bottles and sunflower seeds. As stupid as this may sound then I made a couple of those bags and now have one in my truck, one at the house, one at work and today I am on day 92, so it has at least worked that long.

Since my quit I have learned that my addiction fed several habits and vice versa, so I could never really dial in my cravings, they have and still do happen when they want to. My addict brain needs my enforcement brain to maintain my quit balance.

You have a good plan now, let's see it!

If you read through the other intro's you may see some of my same words on them but they always hold true so I will just repeat them...

You are in for one nasty fight but you have the tools here to make it.

Read everything on here, post roll call each morning and don't dip. Wow....that sounds so easy, doesn't it?

Go load yourself up with gum, mints, fake chew, seeds and beef jerky. Also get some member phone numbers right now, they will help you through the rough parts.

Next, exercise to exhaustion every single day and drink so much water that you feel like you may bust. Both of these will help.

Make sure your wife reads about what you are going through. 99% chance that you are going to be a short fussed butt-head for the next 3-4 weeks. Try not to take it out on her and the kids. Get on here and take it out on us, we will be fine.

I quit with you.
Oh little worm-dirt...you are so scary...F' OFF...!!!

I have been a slave to dip since I was 17 years old. I am now 25 years old, married, and working an office job. I was able to complete an undergraduate and graduate degree at a university, meet the women of my dreams, accept Jesus Christ into my life, quit drinking alcohol, and here I am, still dipping. I will no longer poison my body, upset my family, or disrespect Jesus Christ. It is time for me to be a man and quit.

My plans for today:
1. empty my can of dip into the trash and throw the can away.
2. haul myself to the tobacco store and by herbal dip
3. place a pinch of herbal dip in between my gums
4. stay positive and pray
5. get through the day w/o poisining myself

Day one: 10/14/13
Today I will conquer
Prayer will get it done bro. Sounds like you've got a great plan to go! The veterans will be along with better advice than I can offer, but for now, I have one more thing to add to your plan.

Read the pink Welcome Center link at the top of the page, it'll explain all about how this site works. Find your quit group, January 14 (the date of your HoF, 100 days quit anniversary), and post roll as your promise not to use nic in any form (fake dip is alright, I'm still using it at day 56, but nothing with tobacco or nicotene). you will get through today, just one day at a time. PM me if you want a cell # for text support.
