It is day 20 and the mind funk is definately starting.  I started thinking about what percentage of dippers actually get cancer.  I've read 100's of stories of my quit brother and I hadn't come across many that actually had cancer.  Did I really need to quit?  That right there is some sick addictive thinking.  If one person ever got cancer that should be enough.  I got some smokey mt and read through some articles on here and got my "head on straight" .  She's coming,  you guys warned me.  I WILL BE PREPARED and I WILL NOT LOOSE TO THAT BITCH!!!!!! I PROMISE.

I was also thinking about what was diferent about quitting this time versus other previous attempts.  And it has to be this site and its resources.  I don't know many of my JUNE brothers (secretly known as FIGHT CLUB)  but I will not let them down.

I never post anything in roll other than my days, out of respect to those who have gone before me. (even if some of them call us fucktards)

Another thought:  would KTC get more traffic if I posted stuff like my cock grew 3" since I quit dipping.  Does google search shit like that?  I'd like to know.

Dear Big Fucktardish D,

Just a couple thoughts.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? No. It will never be over. The mind games will be there for quite some time. You know where you can combat those mind games? Yup. You guessed it. On this site. The positive reinforcement of this place is like the extra metal on Flounder's car. Sure. It looks bad ass and it certainly has a purpose but the truth that metal surrounds (a.k.a. you gave your word that you quit today) will be the artillery to any battle you have to wage. You will always have to answer that question: to use or not to use? To me it equates to an easier question: do I want to live or die? That question is a heck of a lot easier to answer. If you are here, you know you got something to offer this world and the answer to that question is clear. Being that you are quit now (this ain't no attempt), you know that you are worth more.

And fucktard can be both a compliment regarding acceptance as well as something derogatory. I often blur the difference.

And quitting makes your balls grow, not your cock. Eventually you look like you got two pumpkins down there with a tiny stalk in between them. I know. Its tough. You will overcome.

Sincerely,

Soul
'crackup'

Germans and perl harbor, great joke.

Seriously though, it's like Souliman says your nuts get bigger and when you get thoughts like that running through your head slam them in your desk drawer. Thoughts like that seem to vanish once you've done that.

I should see your next post as "Day 21 - my nuts hurt but my mind is in the right place."

Saty strong and Stay quit.
Never forget the past or you will be doomed to relive your mistakes.

I have been having a recurring dream the last few days.  I have been waiting to hear from the local little league if I will be coaching either one of my boys’ baseball teams this year.  I have either coached or asst coached for the last three years. In the dream I never get the call from the league.  So I call and ask them why I was not picked to coach either team.  That is when they calmly tell me that they reviewed my file and had numerous complaints from the parents of my former players about my use of smokeless tobacco at practices and at the games.  The league has a zero tolerance policy on such matters.  This is when I wake up in a cold sweat wandering if I am seeing the future or just tormenting myself in my sleep.
This morning I got a call from (2) different commissioners telling me they needed me to head coach.  This is absolutely awesome news for me as this is my favorite thing in the world to play baseball with a bunch of kids.  I will be extremely busy with these two teams but not too busy to quit dipping.  I think it is great that my habit started on a baseball field and a baseball field is going to be involved while I quit.
God bless America, God bless my quit brothers.
Congrats, Big D, that's good stuff. I coached my daughter's softball teams for a few seasons a few years ago. Tons of work and I loved it. Enjoy the good stuff, and screw the snuff.
Good Stuff. I think the dream is telling you - Don't Fuck this opportunity up, stay QUIT. A big fat cave will kill your coaching career. Stay strong and enjoy it. You will effect kids lives in a positive way now rather than influencing them to think dipping is cool because the person they look up to, their coach does it. Keep on fighting the good fight

Glad to see others find their ultimate reason to be quit and I am sure those kids will be glad to have you quit as well. Your story is a real inspiration to me and yours and others' have helped me through these first two days. Keep up the good work.

7 straight days no nic. Hell Yeah.

My head has cleared a little since I wrote my intro.

I'm an addict an alcoholic and a man of my word.
I am not a liar a cheat or a thief.
40 yrs old married 15yrs I have (2) boys ages 7 9. I work in the commercial construction industry and live in Indianapolis.

My story of nicotine is no different than most. I started at 12 yo on a baseball field in central IN. I was hooked immediately Shortly after being introduced to that first dip of Kodiak my whole life changed. I'm not blaming the dip as some gateway drug just being 12 years old and experiencing new things.

Ever since i was 12 I chewed early I smoked cigarettes too Quit those In my early 20's.

When I was thirty I quit drinking the whole AA program and everything. Honestly this saved my life. However unlike Alcohol nicotine hadn't caused any of the jails, institutions, or death that tend to mess with ones daily affairs.

I quit dipping for a few years and spent more money on cigars than I care to admit. After about 4 years of smoking cigars I returned back to that can of Kodiak.

2 weeks ago we burried my last living grandparent. Which got me thinking of my own mortality. I went out and bought three cans of dip and said I would quit when they were done. 8 days ago i found this site and flushed away a can and a half.

Every day for the last Ten years (since 4/26/02) I have started everyday on my knees asking god to not let me drink today. The last seven I also included dip said amen and posted roll.

Thats my story. (and i'm sticking to it)
Stick to it and you will truly love the results!

Post roll everyday and reach out to your new quit brethren accountability is key my friend.

Happy to be quit with you sir.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement.

Holy shit was yesterday an experience! It was like a bad acid trip, restlesness, tight muscles, nausea. I may have a little too much caffeine yesterday. I absolutely felt helpless and powerless. I felt like a F'ing Junkie!

There's no doubt that going through a day 1 is a miserable experience but you did it. That's just a little fuel on your new 'Quit Fire' to keep it going another day.

The first couple weekends can be difficult so do your best to stay busy and get the blood moving a bit; take a hike, run, push-ups, anything. It will help your brain too. A little endorphin rush. Drink a ton of water.

Read everything on this site you can. It helps. Read the Hall of Fame Speeches.

This sounds pretty bossy and I don't mean to come across that way. Just suggesting there's some things you can do that might help.

"Embrace the suck" as they say. Feel it now and remember it. Then decide now you never want to go through it again.

Just today. Quit just for today.

BigDin, I see you posted a Day 1 today so I'll congratulate you for that. If you did in fact quit yesterday then today is your Day 2...either way I applaud the decision.

Now, since you posted roll today then that is YOUR word that you will NOT have nicotine today. Maybe yesterday was a stutter-start. Fine...water under the bridge. It's different today. Once you post roll and give your word then you've made a commitment that you MUST honor.

Stay quit. You can do this. I promise you that.

It will serve you well to listen to MikeA, we do NOT quit forever.

One bite at a time, my friend. That's how you eat an elephant and you, sir, just sat down at the table for dinner. We serve elephant...whole elephant.

Get yourself a sharp knife and get busy working on this beast one bite, sometimes one nibble, at a time. It doesn't taste too good in the beginning but you'll get used to the taste in a few days. You won't like it for probably a few weeks...

We know how you feel and we're here to help you in any way we can. I'm happy to share my number with you, just ask.

Today I'm quit with you. Congrats on your decision to get your life back.
