I said today was my last day then I ended up buying two cans of grizzly wintergreen long cut today and I dipped both cans completely empty. I'm telling myself tomorrow is the day I quit now. I've dipped now almost ten years...smoked before that. I'm downright terrified of the thought of no more dip. I've gone out and bought gum, Davids seeds, and placed an order for some faux snuff. I plan on being in the Septempber 2010 quit group. Wish me luck.

Earl
Tomorrow is not a good day to quit. Today is, because you really never know when the "just one more" you take might be the one that produces a coronary or starts the out of control cell division leading to cancer.

Why not now?

You can say whatever you want but in the end you must really, truly WANT to quit. Unfortunately for some, that wanting comes too late.

Don't tell me, show me.

My first post here said I would quit tomorrow. I saw this thread, and it made me get up and go dump my can and update my intro. I know this guy disappeared, but his lack of action inspired me. This thread should besent to all new members.
The difference Cando is that you took the bull by the horns and went to battle. This guy just made an empty promise and bailed. I am glad that it inspired you that is what this section is for stay quit buddy!!!

Here's an example of why not to wait for tomorrow to quit. Doesn't work. Quit now.
and 3 days later it still dont work.
Tomorrow I quit....HA!!

Listen up folks.

Tomorrow is not a good time to quit.
12 hours from not is not a good time to quit.
1 hour from now is not a good time to quit.
30 minutes from now is not a good time to quit.
10 minutes from now is not a good time to quit.

RIGHT NOW is the only good time to quit.

Any other time is too long and the Nic0_Bitch will cloud your judgement and you will change your mind.
Well said.

I was "planning" a quit when I first logged on here. It was a Friday and I was going to dip throught the weekend and post a Day 1 the next Monday.

MikeA and Martin talked me into posting a Day 1 on that day. I am grateful for that, as I'm certain that I wouldn't have returned and I would be sitting with a fat dip in my mouth right now.

Planned quits don't work. I've tried that approach several times and never lasted more than 16 days.

Quit now. Stop being a vag, grow some hair on your berries and post up.

There is no luck. Luck has fuck all to do with it, its you and how big your nutz are.. Welcome to September Pre HOF. Empty or not, right now should be the minute you quit. Post a day 1 tomorrow, read as much as you can on the boards, you will learn how we operate around here.

There are only two rules:

1. Post roll early every day, this is your word to stay nic free. Keep your word.
2. Do not cave, there is no excuse.

Again WELCOME!!
Hey Earl. I was terrified when I quit too. That was 72 days ago. Quitting is the best decision I have ever made in my life. The first few days are going to suck but you can get through it. Drink water, pure cranberry juice, and exercise. Once you get 3 days down the nicotine is our of your systemn and it becomes a mental game. Get pissed - You got this
We are there with you. You can use the fake or the crutches, there is no shame in it.
It will suck. Your brain will tell you that it's harder than it is. Ignore it. It's a feeling. It cannot kill you.

Drink plenty of juices and water; it'll keep you hydrated and your blood-sugar up to where you won't be as cranky as you should be.

Fuck like a caveman. Seriously, if you're not married, go get some pussy and wear it out. It works, and if you're going to replace an addiction with another, I can't think of one better.

Quit every damn day.

also, don't feed the trolls.
Tomorrow is here.

How's it going?
Here's an example of why not to wait for tomorrow to quit. Doesn't work. Quit now.

And eliminate any thoughts or language that takes the power of your quit out of your hands. You are capable of amazing things, but you have to work to make them happen.
