The cravings got a lot easier with seeds, suckers, gum... but the last few days have been really testing. I used some smokey mountain herbal dip today, it's just not the same.

I don't really feel any different since I quit, but I do feel better knowing I am not slowly killing myself.

I've read a few inspirational stories here tonight to help me continue and thought I would sign up.
Hi Ben,

Congratulations on stopping dipping 2 months ago! Now you are finding out what we all find out: you had a short game plan and executed it well, now you need a long game plan. That's the difference between stopping and quitting. Just because you are past the physical withdrawal symptoms and the oral fixation habit doesn't mean you aren't an addict anymore. I can tell you I feel much better having quit: not physically better, but now my car doesn't smell like stale wintergreen anymore, I'm not planning every second of the day around my next dip, I'm not stepping out of social engagements to take a dip, I'm not getting the extreme anxiety every tip my blood nicotine levels drop low enough, I'm not spending $5.40 a day of dip feeding the tobacco companies that produce this addictive shit, I'm not spilling a cup of brown spit on the carpet of my books anymore, I am not ninja dipping and feeling like a coward/hypocrite/weakling, I'm not spitting on my dick when I'm sitting on the toilet, and on and on.

Join a group and post roll every day. It is easy to forget why you quit when the malaise of every day life sets in. It is important to experience the company of others to remind you of why this quit is so important. I don't need inspiration most of the time, I need reminders of how pathetic it is to spit on your dick when you are sitting on the commode because you are too much of a coward to give up tobacco.

Hello,

My name is Ben, I quit 9/9/15 after 20+ years of dipping.
I got to where I didn't even spit anymore, just swallowed that nasty crap so I could dip when and where I wanted to.

I finally got sick of it and flushed my new can down the toilet that night, this crap is not going to control me anymore 'Finger' . It's been hard but thankfully I haven't had any dizziness, depression etc... The cravings got a lot easier with seeds, suckers, gum... but the last few days have been really testing. I used some smokey mountain herbal dip today, it's just not the same.

Welcome to the board. Having been quit since sept you've powered through the worst of the days (although they can still prove to be rough, randomly). Use that fake chew to pass any craves if need be, others enjoy seeds, others gum. I didn't feel any different either but as time passes you will definitely notice small changes; smells, tastes, enjoying thing without having to hide a cat turd in your lip.....

Best advice is to find your quit group I believe you will be in the December group. Get an introduction typed up and post here or in the group. Tell your story, what got you atarted on your 20 year addiction, why you're quitting and what your plan is. After you get this done post roll Every damn day (EDD) in your group. Get to know those quitting with you and lean on them when and if the craves comes back.

This place is a wealth of info. Just have to buy into it and commit.
Quitting for life, ODAAT.

Quit 8/9/15
HOF - 11/16/15
2nd floor- 2/24/16
3rd floor- 6/3/16

Still quit 1,480 days (as of today 8/27/19) and counting
