This is how this place works - You post a promise in your daily Roll in your Quit Group, which is January '17. Your promise is to not use nicotine for the whole rest of the day. Like has already been pointed out to you, make that promise early in the day, before you leave the house. Then, if you are a man of your word, dipping is off the table for the entire day. We quit one day at a time, so we make the promise every single day. Reach out to a quit brother when you need to. My digits are a PM away.

Right now it seems strange to you to make a promise to a bunch of internet strangers. But, you will get to know the guys in your January group, if you get active with them. Then, they will become like a second family of sorts. After you've made your daily promise, the last thing in the world you will want to do is to let your brothers and sisters in quit down.

I'm on day 272, so I'm still a wet behind the ears newbie myself. I can think of three times (after I was through the initial fog) where I wanted to cave. I said - screw it, I'm done - but I remembered my promise. A crave lasts about four minutes. Power through the crave, and move on.

I have been trying to quit for some time and just continue to create excuses for myself. I am so tired of being chained to a can. Yesterday, i started my journey to quit. This is yet another attempt at many to stay away from the can. I have dipped and chewed on and off for about 4 years. It all started in college on my baseball team.

The can rule your life. It is second nature to reach for the can when you get in the truck. I need this to stick this time and i know it is going to such. I have tried to quite a few times before, but i have always given in. I am ready to join this community for support and accountability. Today i start, but i am determined to make it with you all. Help me stay on track, and i will help you through this journey as well with anything encouragement i can give. I am ready to get my life back. I want to be able to concentrate and make it through the day without taking a dip. Let's get through this together.

Hey Kent

Congrats on taking the plunge!!! the best way to avoid going back to the can is show up here every day first thing in the morning (before you even get out of bed if you have to I did a couple of mornings)
Post Roll and then honor your word through out the day then come back the next day and do it all again. get to know your quit group trade digits hit up the live chat the more you put yourself out there the harder it will be to let those around you down.

btw you are part of the January Group ( topic/30025780/134/#new) head over and post roll for today!!!! see you over there!
