Mr. Corn,

or should I say Mr. Star? :D

Extremely impressed by your steadfastness (yep, it's a word, I looked it up!). And your daily, never wavering support for the Sultans of September, 2014. Awesome job on the 700!

That is a huge win, throwing away a new can. Great job, and it takes a helluva quitter to do that.

Just an update on my quit....it's been going good, so far.  The fog lifted after about 4 days, the bad craving has stopped.  I almost feel guilty about it.  I'm hoping it stays this way, but I'm not banking on it.

I really think what helped is the fake dip.  I quit the dip, and substituted fake dip exactly at the trigger times...first thing in the morning, after every meal, driving, etc.  I'm dippin' a whole can of fake a day, but I don't care...I'm not puttin' poison in my mouth anymore.

Started with Smokey Mountain, now dippin' Jake's.  I couldn't find Hooch locally, but there's a bunch coming in the mail.

I was tested last night...I made a run to Cabela's, and threw on my Carhart jacket that had not been worn since last year.  I arrived and jumped out of my Jeep, and did my normal self pat down as I walked across the lot.  Keys right front, wallet right rear, PM9 right hip, and a can in my jacket pocket.  I pulled it out and it was an unopened can of cope long cut.  After a half second hesitation, and remembering two weeks of promises, it went right in the trash can at the door.

This is my first quit, and will be my only one...Thanks, KTC!
Hell yes...quitting isn't always easy, but it is that simple. Every day is your choice to be a slave or be free. Congrats on choosing freedom today.
Nice job cornstarch! ---auto correct did this, I'm leaving it.

I enjoyed reading. Keep up the quit brother!

Mr. Skoal, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Hi all...here's my quick story...

I'm from Wisconsin, and was first exposed to Copenhagen by my grampa, when I was just a little boy.  I remember he bought it for 25 cents a can.

I chewed Cope Snuff originally, then went to Long Cut when that came out, sometime in the 90's, I think. A box a day, for 25+ years.

I quit 11-13-13, at 10am.  47 hours and counting.

Going ok, but damn, it's foggy...maybe that it actually a good thing.

I'm gonna beat this, and so are all of you.
Hang in there partner. I am sure you are in a FOG, but guess what.. that is you body ridding itself of the nicotine in your system. So embrace that fog and know its for the best.

There are TONS of people here who know exactly what you are going through rid now, as well as myself.

You can 100% for sure do this if you WANT it bad enough, you have to decide in your mind you WANT to quit more than you WANT to dip.

Hang tough and don't bitch out. Glad to be quit with you today.
Welcome aboard

Cornstar,
First of all congrats, I see you have already posted roll for today and I hope you can continue to do just that. I will let you know that I too got my start of the addiction from my Grandfather and kept that addiction for 24 years before finally removing my head from my ass 124 days ago. I am still an addict and will be until I am not. I know I am one missed step away from being a statistic. But I did promise today as have you.

Stay close to this site, get to know other quitters, exchange phone numbers because you will need them and they will need you. I ask that you understand the ABCs of quitting this addiction Accountability, Brotherhood and Commitment. Make sure you know those words and that you take them honestly.

Next, find your alternatives, use them and keep them with you all the time. Drink lots of water. I myself keep bug out bags of seeds, gum, atomic fireballs, other candy and Hooch SpitFire (just in case). I consider them my "break in case of emergency".

Finally, quit daily on for that day. Never ever look at tomorrow or the next day, until that day is today. Planning ahead may cause you to lose focus on today and potentially miss a step.

I quit with you today, send me a message if you want my phone number and or ever need anyone to talk to some time.

Pinched
