Hi sounds like your quitting. What was the last day you had nic in your system cause thats how they start your quit day on here completely no nictine. I cut back 10 days before quitting completely also but later found that it really just prolongs the withdrawal. You need to find your quit group and post a promise every day to not use nicotine. Your new mantra will be i promise i will not chew today. And day 100 is still just another day quit

So, here I am

Didn't see this before now, when I am looking around at all the site and people have to offer.

I am HotRodRacer, Steve if you must, and I am 51 years old. I have been dipping/chewing since I was 13 or so. Hawken, Skoal, Skoal LC, Cope, Stokers, King B twist, even some of the old plugs like Days Work and such. I grew up in the South, the country/mountains, and it was pretty much a way of life. Military service for eight years in the Navy Reserve - long watches in Sonar Central lent itself well to dip.

I quit smoking 13 years ago cold turkey - except it wasn't, because I was dipping then, too.

The name/alias comes from the fact that I used to drag race competitively in IHRA Hot Rod class (10.90 index); Super Street in NHRA.

April 30 at 11:00 PM was my last dip. I had researched, planned, and was ready to quit. My plan was to use Chattahochee Herbal Snuff, rough cut, wintergreen flavor, and cut it with Skoal Long Cut Wintergreen, to gradually reduce. That *WAS* my plan - until I saw that everyone on here recommended cold turkey and did not condone nicotine. What the heck - I have never been ready and WANTED to quit, until now. So let's just stop dipping and see how long we can run with this. "I am going to try my best to not dip TODAY" became my mantra.

43 days later as of today (unless my math is wrong), I am still quit. I still use Hooch, and find myself liking the Mint better than any of them I have tried (Wintergreen, Spitfire, Mint). Hooch helps me pack in the morning after coffee to have that pack - even with no nicotine. I think I have placed five orders or so with them. So I'll be using that until I get past 100 days.

FishFlorida asked what all I had been through so far - irritability was pretty strong, as well as not being able to focus on tasks well. I haven't kciked the dog, cause he would eat my S up and not think twice about it. I sleep well, no problems there. Still taking it a day at a time.

So far, so good.
