Support the American Tobacco Farmer- Hell No!
« on: April 18, 2011, 04:18:00 PM »
Hi today is my 25th day of quit. My name is Trey and I go by gwshark in chat. A thought hit me today that I thought I would share. I used to try to justify my tobacco addiction by telling family and friends that I was supporting the American tobacco farmer and their families because they needed help too. How stupid was I! That's like saying I should also support the American Pot grower, Columbian Coke farmer, SE Asian Poppy grower, Caribbean Sugar Plantation owner and Russian Potato farmer. They all provide an addictive product and need help too, don't they?
Besides the tobacco farmer, potato farmer and sugar plantation owner, all of the other products are illegal. Addiction is addiction regardless the form or substance of choice. I've been an addict of tobacco since age 6, porn since age 7, and alcohol since age 8. Thanks to you all, my addiction to tobacco is the last to break and I quit for the 25th time today for me!
