Well, it's day one of my quitting. Probably like most of you I used dip as a coping mechanism, an "enjoyable" stress reliever etc for 12sh years (28 years old). I have quit before but always came back. But I am seeing now I am just killing myself slowing when I have so much to look forward to in life. I've noticed some white bumps on the inside of my lip, and while I hope it's not to late to avoid cancer etc, I am done with it. Things I have going for me are a loving family who supports me and is aware I am quitting along with good friends and coworkers. I am a big gym rat and I am hoping spending time in there will help me break myself of this. Will be on here to ask advice from serious hard quitters and probably vent my frustrations. Goodluck to those who are in the same boat as me, and goodluck to those who have quit and are staying off it..I know this is a long fight. I've just realized life's worth it. (And cancer scares me) -hidust
Hidust, welcome to KTC. Day one, well you have a pretty interesting road ahead of you.
First things first I would go to my dentist and get your mouth checked out. If it is pre-cancer or some other shit why wait, I would get it looked at quick. Now, remember it turns out your mouth is good it's not an invitation to start chewing again. Thats what the nic bitch will tell you. She will say see it was nothing now come back to me.
GYM, is great, it got me through some serious times. If you can't take a breath you cant crave right? Weights running whatever works for you do it and keep doing it.
get your stuff together, seed fake, gum candy whatever you need. Water, drink so much water if you pass a bathroom without pissing it's not enough.
Other than that reach out if you need anything we are here for you. Your surrounded by a bunch of bad ass quitters. I quit with you today.
Just wanted to piggy back kk here. Get to the dentist and get checked. It is not worth walking around all scared about nothing and if it did turn out to be something,, the earlier the better.
One thing about quitting is getting your mind right. Realizing the facts will help your quit.
You stated before that you have quit before. You've never quit,, you might have taken a break, but you never quit. Your quitting now though and thats the key.
You stated that dip was enjoyable,, it was never enjoyable. It made you think you were enjoying it. There is nothing to enjoy about it. It has stolen your freedom,, costed you countless dollars and now it causing you to question your health. It has made you think it was helping with stress, when in fact you were having withdraws, during stressful situation.
Not trying to pick your post apart, just showing the addiction for what it is. It really helped me with my quit when I found out the truth. Read over all the material on the sight,, get to know your enemy for what it is. It has done nothing good for you. You've decided to take your life back and the beginning of that is to get your mind right.
Glad to be quit with you. PM me if you need another number.
