.......when I told her I have started quitting.
Wrong. You haven't started quitting. We ARE quit. "Starting" something implies that there is a finish line or and end point. There is not. Expecting to be cured at some point is setting yourself up for failure, and that ain't how we roll here. I don't want to discourage you, because it definitely gets much easier as time goes by, but we will always be addicts. That just means we can never have "just one" because that one pinch, chew, dip, smoke, etc will lead us right back to where we were. We can never open the door for nicotine again. Well, hell..... now I've mentioned "never", and that's unaccepteable here too. WTH are we going to do?!?!

I'll tell you what we'll do. We'll quit TODAY. That I can handle.

^^^^ All of that ramble was just to point out that getting your head in the right place and following the plan is of utmost importance.

I quit with you, but just for today..........

I had been chewing for about 5 years at about a half can a day. I finally manned up and threw out the can 4/1/13, first day quit was 4/2/13. The first few days were bad with the fog, however the past 2 days have been much better. I'm still having trouble getting a good nights sleep as I keep waking up after 3 hours and can't sleep for another few hours. I'm hoping that goes away after time, and if anybody has any advice on getting better sleep let me know.

I went to the dentist yesterday, was pretty worried they were going to find something. She was very supportive when I told her I have started quitting. Luckily everything was fine, which is a load off my mind.

So far for quitting I have been using beef jerky, life savers, seeds and lots of water its been working great.

Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of this site and I plan on keeping my quit 1 day at a time.
Welcome to KTC, nice job on balls of steel 8 days of quit already. Ajacks summed up most of it already. Use the site, we have a lot of information here, that will assist you along with your quit.

Be accountable, we are a tough but fair group, post roll every day, rinse and repeat, easy as that. Tomorrow does not matter, quit for today.

Reach out to your group, or me or anyone. If you ask for you help there will be a few thousand bad ass quitters willing to help you out.

I quit with you today.

Hey Slow Roller, Welcome! Sounds like you are off to a nice start to your quit. I can tell you that the sleep problems will only last for a few more days, for me sleep patterns started to return to normal around 10-14 days.

You touched on something that has helped remind me to keep my quit strong and maybe it can help you as well. REMEMBER those feelings of fear when you went to the dentist, this time you made it by OK, but imagine how worried you would be if you got some bad news. DONT let this fade, keep your quit strong!

Now to some KTC stuff, click on this link here index.php?showforum=13 and read up on everything about the site. Once you get a feel for everything post up your promise to quit today in the Pre-HOF July 2013 quit group which can be found in the quit group section here index.php?showforum=2 We work One Day At A Time (ODAAT) and today I quit with you!
