He has my support! You really can do this, JW!

Edit: Sadly, no roll post. :(
Just one and you will be back to where you started, and where you started was desperately wishing you were where you are now.

....hmmm, at the time of my response to this thread, you are about 24 hours in and only have 1 post. Your intro. Looks like you came back to visit the site, maybe read a response or two - but you have nothing to add. Now its Day 2 and you still only have...1 post. This tells me you're not on roll. You really haven't taken the time to read the material on this site. You haven't read other intro pages. Basically, you're not all-in.

I'm not the guy who is going to rub your back and tell you everything is ok. You'll be fine. Reality is, you won't be fine until you go all in and post roll. If you don't want to be a slave any more (your words) then get on roll and do this 110%. If you do, you'll thank me in the end for not coddling your balls.

Decided this morning that today January 28th 2017 was the last day that nicotine will ever enter by body. I have dipped most waking hours for the last 16 years and I refuse to be a slave to it any more. Thanks to everyone here for pounding home the idea to suck it up and go cold turkey. I never really considered it before I just thought patches and gum were the way to go but they haven't worked for me yet. I'm about 4 hours in and just hanging on for the ride.
One of the best decisions you'll ever make, JW! Put your head down, grit your teeth and bull your way through each day, one day at a time. Post roll early every day. Read, read, and then read some more on this site. Drink more water than you ever have. Build a web of accountability by trading digits with your May brothers as well as vets. After you have gotten through the first three days write down in excruciating detail how bad it has been. Then write a pledge at the bottom saying you will never subject yourself to that kind of mental torment again and sign it. Proud to quit with you, brother. You will never regret it. And I promise it does get better, one day at a time. PM me if you want my digits for support.

Kindly allow me the privilege of welcoming you to the Fraternity. I'm Jim; nicotine-clean by the grace of God since 11 November 2016.

You will experience what I call Hell Week - 72 hours of mind-bending agony, followed by 96 hours of irritability, confusion, insomnia, and general all-around angst. Your task for this time is very simple: Suck it up and endure it. No one ever got killed - or even sickened - by nicotine deficiency; you will not be the first. My mantra is 'I never use nicotine now'. Be mindful of the fact that it's always now - it was now when I wrote this; it will be now when you read this. So, stay in the now, and leave later to the Supreme Being's concern. To quote the words of the great Martin Luther: 'Pray, and let God worry'.

I am compelled to add my own voice to the growing chorus of voices chanting 'post roll'. This roll posting will enhance your quit by reinforcing the concept in your own mind. It will remind you to stay nicotine-free this day.

I hope to hear more from you. If you require any assistance in your journey, kindly send me a Private Message through this message board. My signature line has some good advice for you on your journey.

Welcome to the asylum, now POST ROLL. You need to make that promise to yourself and us, its what makes KTC the best place for quitters to stay quit. The path is laid out before you and its easy to follow, but difficult to hike. We are addicts, so always remember that and it will help you understand your predicament. Posting roll is the key to success around here............get on the train!

Good for you two bad ass quitters have pointed you in the right direction. Its going to be rough for awhile but you can get your life back! Drink lots of water and exercise a ton this will help get the nicotine out of your system. Use fake gum candy seeds or anything that keeps that crap out of your mouth. Make connections in May 17 and build accountability. PM me if you need anything

Cold turkey is the way, but quitting by yourself most likely won't work. Get into the May 17 group and start posting roll with us every day!

I quit with you today! Stranger999 - day 512

Good on you.

Find the May '17 quit group, and post your promise. Honor your word, and do the same thing tomorrow.

Proud to quit with you.
