Hi Code8421,

I can relate to you on this one. No one knew that I dipped. I would sneak it whenever I could where ever I could. I was too afraid of their reactions to seeing a girl snap the can, pinch a chaw and place in mouth and then spit into a bottle. That's sexy huh?

Well, now that I am quit 6 days, I am toying with the idea of telling people that have no idea. Part of me wants to but the other part is worried that all the questions will come and put me on edge and push me to panic and too close to the edge and will need to call Suds to talk me down off the ledge. So, now is not the time for me. That may come with day 100 in April.

So, I would say that you need to focus on your quit. Be strong and get a few more days down the road. You can tell people when you feel ready if you feel ready. The shame is part of the quit. Feel it.

Why you want to quit with no one knowing?   You said you've been in the closet dipping for 3 years..  It is time to come out of the closet!
I don't want anyone to know, simple as that, I don't expression emotion. that's just how I am. Now I feel head-strong enough to do this. I was just looking for advise from people who also feel the same.
Derk just knows how hard this is brother. He knows he needed all the help he could muster. I don't know if i could have made it without the help of my wife, but there is a lot of quitters that made it without telling they're loved ones for a while. I know of one in particular. He made it almost a year before he told his wife.

Any which way, stay quit. That is the important thing. I'm sure derk will agree. Do Whatever it takes. If you got to go see the president of the united states you find a way. We are glad to be quit with you.
You sound a lot like me. I like to hold things in and do things on my own also. Coming to KTC is a big step in asking for help and knowing you don't need to go at this quit alone. I have told those closest to me, but I don't walk around with a quitter badge all day long.

Well, you are here. Let's take it one step at a time.

Maybe when/if you are ready you will open up to those closest to you. That is your decision to make bro.

For now the most important thing is to stay quit today. Keep posting roll daily. Be a part of this brotherhood.

Im quit with you today!

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

I guess it's easier to take if you don't know the people giving it.

BS.... own bit bro. let the fam and friends know you what's going on like the senior guys have said. There is nothing better then having family in your corner. And if the new girl is really in to you, she will understand.

For me seeds and smokey mountain are always in my battle bag. But like it has been said.. do it for you and OWN it!

So you are looking for support from here but refusing to look for support from people you know and see?

Post roll and get this quit rolling.

Why you want to quit with no one knowing? You said you've been in the closet dipping for 3 years.. It is time to come out of the closet!

Hiding = secrets. That is how you've been rolling and that is hard sledding.

You can do this and you have all the support you will ever want here at KTC. But, ideally You need support of those nearest to you as well.

Anyhow... Let's start with roll and staying quit today. Today is what matters!

Right on the money.
Too many secrets for too many years adds up to too much weight to be carrying around. Shuck it all off and taste real freedom. It's pretty damn cool!
Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten.

code,
Welcome to KTC. Let's start off your quit because you want to quit only, not because you think it may impact your relationship with a new girl. You may even find it beneficial to let the new girl know you are quitting and use her support. Next read up on the site, learn from the experience that exists from KTC and quit for you and only you One Day At A Time.

Learn how to post roll: How to Post Roll

Post Roll here: Pre HOF April 2014

Read everything that you can on here. Take it in as your time allows. The minimum price of admission on here is to post roll daily, that is your pledge or promise to be quit for that day. Take that seriously as this is a promise.

Find an alternative to dip, be it candies, seeds, fake dip, whatever works for you and use it and keep it on hand 24/7/365. Next drink lots and lots of water, imagine that you should not pass a latrine without needing to use it. Find an outlet for your anger, I work out and hit a punching bag (sometimes daily).

Quit like a beast every day and own this; it is not easy but if your life is worth having then you will learn to fight through it.

Exchange phone numbers with other quitters; if I can do this you can do this too!

P.S. The underlined words above are links to locations on this forum.

Hello everyone,

I am currently on day 4, and I feel like I need some support. I guess you could say im a closet dipper (for about 3 years). Not many people know about my habit for the shear fact that I would never dip in front of anyone, I would survive all day at work with no issues, but once home its like 4 or 5 times a night before bed and worse on the weekends...

I stated dating a new girl and I have not told her that I dip (thus the reason im quitting) I feel blah tho, kinda tired, and in that fog I read about, Im drinking lots of water, and tiring to keep active.

does anyone have any good ideas how to deal with this shit without anyone knowing?

Thanks.
Here what you need to do. Come clean and let people close to you know what you are doing. You will their support. Do not quit for anyone else but yourself. I can't remember a single time that has worked for anyone here.

If you need additional support, go to our chat room and their will usually be a vet in there to assist.

Be strong, you are 100% in control of your quit!
