Bro, the plain and simple fact is......your an addict. Just like the rest of us. Sad but true. That should be the fuel for your quit. Not if someone knows or not. I understand all that but the worst part is that your an addict. Wether you tell her or not. Maybe you should and that would be another level of accountability. But your best chances for a successful quit is doing it for yourself. This summer is 25 years that I've been married. Told her before we got married that I'd quit. Never even tried till 173 days ago. But I didn't have KTC back then either. You can do this.
this is very true and something that may not have made it through in my first post. Your quit has to be because of you, for you and all about you. It has to be a selfish quit. It is your life you are getting back and no one else's.

I still say you should consider clueing your wife in on what is going on. Your wife will need some explaining as to why you are 100 times the ass you normally are during the first 3-4 days of your quit. That is just my $0.02. Tell her or not, I'll quit with you today.

Well, I am 25 years old.. I have been using since I was 16 and wanted to be cool and hang out with my brother and his friends. So I threw a Copenhagen and skoal wintergreen pouches..... Fast forward, I am married to an amazing woman who has no knowledge of my habit/addiction, it makes me feel confined and bad. IT IS TIME TO GO!!! Aggieheismanziel is my best friend and told me about this site and how awesome it was so shout out to him also!

Thanks ahead of time for the support.
Hi Jchat,

I am 26 years old and while I am not married, I hid my addiction from my girlfriend for three years. Now I'm not by any means telling you what to do, or not do, but when I came clean to her, it was as if the biggest guilt was taken off my shoulders. Now like rtpope said, she is able to be supportive of my quit and also hold me accountable. I quit with you today!

Congrats JChatt!!

My wife did know that I dipped, but she had no idea who much I dipped. She thought I only dipped 1 or 2 times a day. In reality, I had a dip in every waking second of every day. She has been supportive of my quit, but I did have to come clean about the seriousness of my addiction.

Remember to post roll, read as much as you can and take this thing hour by hour until you can post another day.

Proud to quit with you today.

From one ninja to another, the freedom the can is great but the freedom from the guilt of lying to your spouse is even greater. The support is here but you have got to seek and use it. As a 40 year slave and 684 day quitter I can tell you that I wish like hell I'd quit for good at your age but I instead took a 3 year Hiatus only to have that one dip that led to hell.
