Hey I'm Jon, I'm a firefighter paramedic and in honesty....I love nicotine. I started smoking when I was 18. I quit smoking for a few years and picked it back up. When I started my career in firefighting I switched up to dipping. I've dipped for about 6 years...off and on occasionally to quit, but always going back. I want to finally be free of the dependency and get to a place where I don't need to spit into a bottle around people, or rush out at 11 pm to get a can.
Yesterday was my first day quitting, again, but this time I'm going to make it stick. I decided to go with the patch. The patch worked in the past so why not now. Well the first day wasn't horrible. I put it on first thing in the morning. It itched, but that subsided. I had cravings, but they were manageable.
Today is day two and after class and the gym I was angry, irritable, wanting to eat everything and just wanted a pinch so badly. I was doing research and hoped I could put two patches on, but that's unsafe. Lol. They never tell you that you get such a bigger dose of nicotine on dip that this 21 mg patch is practically nothing.
I did more looking and found out about this smokey mountain chew. I immediately rushed out and hunted down a can. I bought a can of straight and wintergreen. Not knowing what I'd like. Well the wintergreen has the burn feeling which is tricking me to thinking I have something and the patch is giving me some nicotine so my nerves are calmer.
So that's the plan. Nicotine free chew and Nicotine patches until I finish that part of the program. Any support and advice helps and is welcomed. And I hope to also give advice on my experiences if it helps.
Well hope to hear from you all soon. Later.
