I'm almost a month in, and I think this is the hardest part yet, maybe someone can lend insight...I've had a pretty easy time with breaking the oral fixation, and although craves are there, they're very seldom.  My biggest problem now is hypochondria.  I have a boring job, so to pass the time I've looked through every link and picture on the site and others about 5 times.  Although I went to the doctor, and he gave me a clean bill of health, I have an ongoing terror and anxiety of having the bad c word.  I have yet to go to the dentist because of some insurance peperwork issues, but that will be taken care of in the beginning of next month.  I'm becoming freakishly obesessive in my thoughts, which is depriving me of sleep, making me lose my appetite, etc.  Can anyone give advise on how to deal with this, and is this a normal symptom/side effect? HELP! I'M GOING CRAZY!
Honestly, I don't know why you're asking us. We have a plan for dealing with this sort of thing, and you know that plan, but you aren't following it.

Post roll every day, build accountability, prepare for the hard times, and we'll be there to keep your quit flame burning. Otherwise, take your problems elsewhere.

I hope you're getting the help you need, fatboy.

--------------- edit

It's good to see you in rollcall. Each day you're making me feel worse for being a jerk. Keep it up.

A month in and 3 posts? I'll bet none of those posts is on a Roll Call anywhere. _

Like RT said. You want answers? You want advice? Go read. Go post. Get involved. Get invested.

My man Dean would say, "You got no skin in this game."

The answers are here if you want them, but they aren't free. Nothing worth having is. You gotta do the work.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!

Man, I wouldn't know normal if it bit me on my rear end .... but here is my perspective. I was in a similar position to you. I am terrified of cancer, or I was I guess. Cancer runs in my family. Lost both my parents to it. Which, yes, just goes to show how stupid I ever was to let the can of cancer into my body. Anyway, in the beginning of my quit I was very paranoid about the big C. Every little thing in my mouth or on my tongue I just assumed it was the beginning of the end. Then throughout my quit I guess my mindset changed. I became more hopeful, more positive about how I looked at things. I think my mind was healing too. Plus, I think we can only be scared of things for so long and then they begin to lose their power over us. Cancer still scares the crap out of me. I'm just more focused on the positive now.

The other thing that helped me is THIS. This site. Talking to other quitters about just life stuff. Stay involved and keep sharing. Oh, go to the dentist when you can and get some solid knowledge that you are ok. Thanks for being here!

I'm new to the site, but I am on my 5th day of the quit.  Cravings are bad, but the temper is the problem.  Staying strong though, I've been using sugar free gum and breath mints to calm the oral fix.  I was a slave to the can for 3 years, and it's time to be done with this shit.
Great decision, im on day 10 myself, ive found that Atomic Fireballs work the best for me to cure the oral fix, they give u a little burn and last a while. Go ahead and post roll if you havent already in the May group. If you need anything holler at me.
I had some epic anger meltdowns. Looking back they are funny now.
