Roughshod - is getting on the train as well today. He is from Ponca City, Oklahoma and is 35 years old. He loves hunting, fishing, home brewing and college football! Congratulations and we wish we had more info on this badass quitter!!!

Update   Day11

Thanks to everyone that responded in my times of need.
The night I posted about the rage I read some of the links you guys posted. They were awesome can't thank you enough. There is some great reading on this site that I knew nothing about. I'll keep exploring and reading new things.

I've had my boys the past week and that has kept me very busy. My 9yr old is very interested in my quit and I'm keeping him involved.
My hopes and prayers are that he will be smarter then his old man and stay away from the poison.
Last night we played a double header ( won both) and then I had to do the parent swap with the soon to be X-roughshod.  Fun fun!!
I started getting emotional with a ref and it was the first time in 4 yrs of coaching that ever happened. I decided to take a quick walk before I went to far and got removed from the game. Lol.
I walked to the concessions stand and got a water. Then went back. I was able to put it behind me without going into rage mode. Whjch is good.

Well it looks like we have some new guys in the Killers group so Im gonna try to reach out to them.
Stay quit badass mofo's!!
Dude, way to go keeping the rage in check. Walking away and taking some breaths calms the beast. Proud to be quitting with you.
The quit is strong in this one 'jedisith'

Keep up the great work roughshod. I also made the decision to involve my 9 year old in my quit. He was witnessing the struggle first hand back in Jan when I quit and I felt compelled to tell him exactly what I was going through. He blew me away by asking how he could help me. I told him he could help me by promising to never to use tobacco or nicotine in any way shape or form in his life and help his little brother to do the same. Incidentally his grandfather was undergoing chemo and radiation for throat cancer around the same time. We looked at lots of cancer pictures together. He gets it. He blew me away again when he bought me my HOF coin and told me that he was proud of me when I hit 100 days. That will send a man to his knees. My 9 year old is proud of me. Wow. How could I ever go back to the poison after that. NEVER AGAIN FOR ANY REASON. Happy to be quit with you today roughshod, keep up the great work. It is so worth it. You need anything reach out.
Great job Roughshod!

Early on my 9 year old son told he was proud of me for "quitting that nasty Kodiak stuff" Like Ryan has said, that just floored me. I was never a ninja trying to hide but I guess I was in denial about how much my habit was noticed by him. You've only begun to scratch the surface of your quit and there will be good things to come. I look forward to seeing your quit progress as we all wander down this road of quit together. Proud to quit with you today!

You are the badass mofo and I am truly glad to be quit with you.

I can happily say that I am now on day 11 without losing my temper. Hopefully I am past that part now. I had a little depression during the angry times and that seems to be gone too.

You are going to be just fine brother.

You need to rage here on us not your family I know it sucks had similar post as you on my day 6-7. You family is innocent keep quit give your sons a role model to look up too. Rage vent here that's what we are here for.

When I get angry now, at 967 days out, I feel just like I did when I first quit. One of the first thoughts in my head when I'm in the grip of a rage is to cave.

We call this a trigger. That's a thing your addiction uses to keep you addicted. If anger is your trigger, study anger and how to control it.

And That would be 8.  That's how it works roughshod.  You woke up on day 7, posted roll, had a bad day, kept your word and stayed quit.  Woke up this morning and now it's time to repeat the steps of the previous day.  Your early in your quit bro.  8 days is just the beginning.

I didn't begin having a rough time when I quit until after the first week.  I was pumped the first week.  I started something new, my blood pressure was sky high, I had found this site and pumped. Then reality hit,,,  Week 2...

I didn't begin feeling better until the 40's.  Your emotions are where this battle rages.  I remember thinking,,  This emotional roller coaster sucks.

This is a marathon not a sprint.  It will suck until it doesn't and then it won't.  One day at a time and you can have a lot of what the poison has stolen.  Never again for any reason and you can keep it.

I always encourage reading everything you can get on nicotine and your addiction.  It really helps to learn this enemy.  This enemy is worth your time to know everything about.  I always say it's half the battle.  Knowing, somewhat of what's coming helps you evaluate and prepare.  Sharpen them tools bro....    Glad to be quit with you.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.
