nascar, check out some of the resources here and read about the funk. What your facing is totally normal and will pass. Go to Cancer and quitter stories, you'll find some posts about the 70 day funk. I hit it early also , feels like your right back on day one right? You can do this.

"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

I dipped for 20 years...continuously at work for the last 3 or so (desk job). I had tried to quit lots of times, only to return to it. This time it has stuck for 200 days...and the ONLY thing I have done differently is use this site!!! Post roll, read this site for support, give support (like what I'm doing here), and live nic free.

New quitters always say, "I don't know how I'm going to do this, but..."

BULLSHIT!!! You do know how to quit. The trick is staying quit. That's where we come in.

Here's what you do...take it one day at a time. Don't think about tomorrow, next week or forever...we'll worry about those when they get here. Just focus on today, right now, this 5 minutes. Give your word that you won't dip today, then fight like your life is at stake (because it is) to keep your word.

Read all you can on this site to fight craves. Read the Kern Family story, read the contract, look at the cancer pics, read the HOF'ers posts. YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE TO NICOTINE...YOU CAN DO THIS.

We are here to support you. Post roll ever day and keep your word. Then, the next day, wake up and do it again...and again...and again...

I'm 30 yrs old have chewed since I was 12, the past 3 yrs I was chewing 1 1/2 cans of Cope a day and smoking a little over a pack of cigarettes a day (started smoking  a few yrs. ago cause I convinced myself it would help me quit chewing, just ended up doing both)

The 1st 45 days was the hardest for me, it has seemed to get easier as each day passes (except when in line at gas station  guy in front of you buys a can of Cope). Never had real strong cravings for the cigarettes though.

The last week or so I've had a harder time with cravings than I've had even a month ago is that normal???

Thanks for a great site!!!
Im 28 I had been dipping for about 12 years. I used dip to stop smoking and prepair for PT test for the police. I then became hooked. My state banned smoking in bars and then in public in general. I loved that I could dip anywhere and I was still in awsome shape.
I am Quiting for myself and more than anything the memories I will gain. I am very weak minded and gave in to dip so many times on my own. I have made it 10 hours cold turkey and this is hour one of a new time a new day I hope. I have no idea exactly how to do this or how im going to do it but for once I am going to post up and pull the charging handle.
Man up I guess
I have the same situation as you both, just turned 28 and have been chewing for the past 13 years. During the last 8 years, I did not miss one day of chewing, no matter where I was or what was going on. Six days ago, I found this site posted roll and haven't chewed since, this is the longest I have stayed quit in 10 years. If I can quit then anyone can. The key is to take roll as seriously as everyone else. Don't violate it or fuck with it because when we all sign it, we are saying we are not chewing for that day. So post roll and don't everyday, then u can be a bad ass quitter like all of the HOF's. It ain't easy but everyone here will be helpin u along the way.

Welcome to you both. This site will give you what you need to survive the withdrawls and cravings (both old and new) if your open to it. There is alot of tough love here but also alot of good advice. Listen and learn.

Post roll and make your promise to stay quit daily. That is one of the most important things that we do here. Also if you need to vent, whine, or bitch just come in here and open up. We can take it. We've all been there and understand. Around here you will get empathy, but no sympathy. Try not to take it out on your kids or signifigant others.

Lastly especially if you are new Delton, get some peoples numbers to call for support if needed. Stay close to this site over the first couple of weeks. It helps more than you can believe.

Stay strong, and stay quit.
