Burpees kill everything! I did some this afternoon in your honor.

This still sucks but I am not going back. I'm done. Like a boss.
Nice! Anything to stay quit!

Hi. I'm here. Day 2. I am stark raving bullshit. Why is my freaking mouth shedding skin like a lizard??
It's because you are healing.

Yup. It starts that quickly.

Many of us have lived for years and years packing that stuff in our lips and never letting that wound become a scab. It feels odd. It itches. It hurts.

We willingly shoved a product in our lip that cut our lips up like that. There has always been a myth about chewing tobacco containing fiberglass to increase its cutting capacity. It's not true, but it's even scarier to realize there isn't a "secret" dangerous item added to our vice. It is what it is.

Welcome to day 2.

Day 2 left me punch drunk by the end of the day. I hated life more than anything else.

It will be over soon though, and it gets better. Way better.

Imagine your quit as a pendulum. You've grabbed you sanity and pulled it far back into the suck territory. As the poison drains from your system, your life gets increasingly worse because your body wants you to give into its withdrawal symptoms. Very shortly, (drink lots of water and work out a lot today...it helps. Immensely.) you will be done with withdrawals. Your life will go from "suck" to "bad" to "ehhh" to "ok" to "fine" to "good" to "great" very, very quickly.

Please, post your roll call promise over in February 13 and keep your word today. Yes, it sucks. But it's a small price to pay for the years of usage. You are quitting for today.

You can do this.

Check your pm's (1).
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

Well thanks guys but I am scared shitless! I cannot remember a single day of my life since I was 11 without a packed lip or some kind of nicotine. But what the hell.

Gotta jump sometime I reckon.

I made it through this day without a dip. I am freaking out but I guess that is what I expected.... Foggy as hell, and anxious as a mutha. Holy crap I'm like a live wire.

Joy joy joy joy.....

Rich, I dipped for well over 20 myself. I am 78 days in as of today and loving every minute of it. Believe me you are going go through hell the next few days but you can do this. You have to do this. you have no choice, it is time to quit. Just like me. Take the advice from the pros and do what they say and you will be amazed at how the days go by and you remain dip free. It is awesome. Welcome to the site and PM me if you need anything.
Bob.

Rich, I quit 249 days ago after 30 years of having a dip in my mouth. High pressure job, recovering alcoholic, etc. and I have managed to stay dip free. If I can do this you can too. One thing I tell everyone new to this is do not think of it in terms of forever. Forever is way to much for the human mind to comprehend. 24hrs at a time friend, and you will get through this.

Gents -

I've been doing this 30 years. I have no idea what to expect, but I am ready to get this over with.

I have a stressful job - everything about it is a trigger. I also have pretty high anxiety as it is! Just want to get it done.

I'm tired of the sore mouth, peeling skin, stained teeth. I'm sick of it all.

Glad to find this website.

Here we go.....

Rich
We're all here for you. Just keep yourself buried in this site for at least a few days. It has all you need for support. 30 years may be a long time, but today starts a new way forward. Proud to be quit with you today.

Welcome.

You can do this. Check your (Inbox 1) upper right corner of your screen. Read all of it. Then if you decide you are ready, burn your boat.
