It happens, if quitting were easy everyone would do it. Let's help someone else and hope she will make a better decision in the future.

Fighting off a crave is easy....you chew gum, you do some exercise, you drink a glass of water...crave gone. The problem with being quit is you have to fight crave after crave after crave, day after day after day....that is hard. Ultimately the formula here takes some buying into...but once you do, it helps with this challenge. First we each promise to quit every day, and just for that day. To use another analogy, Don't worry about the mountain ahead of you just make another step. The next day wake up and promise again, or take another step up the mountain. If you focus in on one day at a time pretty soon you've trekked a good way up the mountain. What makes the promise binding? That's what takes buying into. You are making a promise to all of quitters. Quitters who made empty promise after empty promise as a user. While you are making a promise to me by posting roll, I am making a promise to you for posting roll. If you crave...it makes my promise look weak. That's what adds accountability. Give it a try, One step at a time. Good luck.

Post roll, read everything you can, and repeat. Quitting is done ONE DAY AT A TIME. Don't worry about tomorrow, next week or whenever. We'll worry about those when they get here. Just focus on making through today nic-free.

Hi folks, I was told to stop nicotine at least 2 weeks before surgery scheduled for May 12. Don't know how but I did it. Mint snuff helps A LOT. I've chewed constantly for about the past 10 years. Sure don't want to go back that way after surgery. Glad to be here and could sure use some help!
Damn straight it's ok if you are a girl!

Welcome ! There are lots of Vets on here to get to know who can help you with a lot of wisdom.

Read a lot on this site. Nose around and stay active in here. Check out the live chat if you haven't already, it kept me sane with all it's craziness and knowledge. You can meet a lot of quitters who are here to help you.

Hi and welcome....you made the right choice to quit and an even better choice to quit here....for starters, this is a cold turkey site....quit and quit now....dump every can you have and find and dump all the cans you've hidden or have stashed....You need to get into a quit group and start posting roll...today is the last day for entry into the July Group...tomorrow will start the August quit group...

here is the link for the Welcome Center forum/55560/ in there you will find a section on how to Post Roll

Posting Roll is the most important thing we do here. First thing in the morning promise yourself and everyone here that you will not use nicotine in any form for that day. Wake up the next day and repeat. Quit one day at a time, ODAAT......

Other than that read everything you can here. When you're comfortable, interact with your group, get to know people.

First three days to a week is the worst. Drink lots of water. ODAAT, or for now one hour or one minute at a time. Just stay quit.

Hang on / Buckle up....the next couple days are going to be alittle rough....stay busy...anything to keep your mind off dipping

PM me is you need anything
