Hey bud.

Where was my call?
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Just as a building starts with architectural drawings. Your daily quit begins with a promise.-Scowick 2/13

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

I want everyone to be quit. Even the assholes.-Probe1957 1/18

Ignoring history or erasing history fixes nothing and leads you inevitably down the same path.-69franx 04/30/2021

Okay, now that I have been around for a few days, I think it's time to write out what many of you have called a quit plan. Not a plan to quit dipping, but a plan to quit quitting. I can see the importance of thinking through that in advance, so here it is.

1. Starting up a debilitating habit via cave should never be an emotional response, though it probably is most of the time.  Immediate emotional responses are usually not the best of decisions.  Resolve and preparation is necessary.  I will not dip after some event that causes stress. There are too many other things to do than dip.
2. Call wastepanel to ask permission.
3. Call wife and tell her that I am about to throw away this thing that we have taken joy in and built hope on.
4. Call my friend Mike and tell him I don't have the stones to keep quit.
5. Come to KTC and publicly post to confirm that I have thought through step one and made the rational (ha!) decision and followed through steps 2-4.
'worship'

Excellent work!
Well said goodtowner!

You get credit for the whole day no matter what time you decided to quit. The whole 24 hour cycle isn't necessary to count. Post, stay quit, repeat. 1 day at a time. Welcome.

Hello Brothers...I'm on day 4.

I'm guessing 20 years a can a day plus or minus. (mostly plus)

So far I'm doing pretty well. One day at a time. I'm tired of being a slave. I'm tired of going to the gas station. ($200 a month. Really??!!!)

My family and KTC has my back. Almost time for lunch. I'm half way through the day.

Good luck brothers, KC Bronco

Thanks for the welcome fellas.

Sharky, I finished off my last can yesterday at 2pm, so technically at that time today would be the end of the first 24 hr period (day 1). When you see me post up roll call (mornings), I'll actually be half way through that day. I just didn't want to cheat.

It can seem a little scary to give up a lifelong addiction and the "comfort" of a dip or whatever. But freedom is so much better than being a slave to a can of plant matter.

Post roll every day, reach out to your quit brothers in your new group get numbers for support, join the chat, etc. This first few days and week are going to suck, but please remember them so you'll never want to experience them again.
welcome aboard

its not easy but keep your word to your new quit brothers and do it each day

Tired of it
« on: December 04, 2012, 10:52:00 PM »
I started dipping in '94 while playing HS baseball. Moved to cigs in '96. Quit cigs in '04. Quit dip 12-04-12.

I do construction work and other mindless activities where having something in my lip just seems natural. I'm, quite frankly, scared to death to try this, but I found this site for a reason.

Why I want to quit...

1. I want to live
2. I want to be there for my family
3. I am tired, so tired, of being tied to it. Always thinking about it, always looking for a spitter
4. I want to save money
5. I want to get healthy, spending time in the gym is such a waste using nicotine
6. I want my wife to want to kiss me without thinking about the crap that's been in my mouth
7. I don't want my 3 year old to ever ask me again what's in my mouth
8. I don't want be a slave to my cravings
