Thanks Guys for all the well wishes and mentoring. I got this. Day 4 and really starting to come out of the fog and feeling good. Had a few drinks last night with friends and while I had a craving I managed it just fine. Definetly gonna take the drinking easy though for a while. I needed to loose som weight anyway.

Playing with your balls is a habbit. Using nic is an addiction. Playing with your balls the rest of you life wouldn't kill and probably wouldn't be too hard to quit. Continuing with your addiction will kill you and is going to be very tough to quit.

Never again, for any reason. I'm not talking about playing with your balls either.

Awesome intro, Neil. My favorite phrase: "WTF am I doing..." That probably sums up all of us at the end. I'm a newbie, too (Day 10!!!) so don't hesitate to PM me if you get ready to jump off a tall building or something. You can do this, bro!! Good luck.

Congrats Neil. Outstanding decision. What WT says is true, and it is a key to staying quit. But for now, my 2 cents is this: if you buy into the program, if you participate, if you KEEP YOUR WORD not to dip today, and you repeat it, your life will get better. Much better. When you realize that there is no reason to get dressed and run to the c-store at midnight, life gets better. When you don't have to invent excuses to leave the office party early so you can dip, life is better. Etc, etc, etc....
*Quit today. Full stop. No qualifiers. Tomorrow?... IDK, IDC.

I only have one small item to comment on and it took me a while to grasp it: our use of nicotine is an addiction not a habit!! There is a huge difference. Habits take about 3 weeks to break, addictions are for life!

Good decision on kicking your nicotine habit to the curb. This site can help. There are no short cuts, but here are some links that will help you navigate this site. Rule number one, this is a no nicotine site, period, end of story.

Biggest thing to do is get acquainted with this site. Highly recommend you go here: WELCOME CENTER and Getting acclimated and go post roll,

This a a NO NICOTINE SITE, period, no discussion.

Your quit decision MUST be 100% your decision. Anything short of that sets you up for failure by allowing your addict brain to blame a given situation as reason for you to go back to the can
Great advice. Heed it. Dismiss it at your own peril.

Welcome to the site.

Glad to see you on here. One day at a time. I am on day 15 and often crave a dip, then I just pop on the site and read, read, post and read. It helps me every time ! Some guys like the fake snuff but fuck that, it will lead you right back to the real shit! It happened to me and everyone I work with. Go for a run, do something fun with the kids or call somebody on here. You quit..you are done, stick to your promise-post roll everyday. Tobacco is for scumbags!

Congrats Neil and welcome to Quit! I'm a 25 year chewing degenerate that is 54 days Quit. I curled up like a baby and cried the day I Quit. Powerful stuff man.

The guys here are very hardcore about Quit. Find your monthly group and post roll every day. If you skip a day you will hear about. Listen to the veterans too.

Stawberry gum and Pickle Seeds have been my crutch. The fake stuff sucks for me...but have saved others. ($3.50 a can..fuck that!)

If I can Quit......YOU can Quit. I have a wife, 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter. I know what you mean brother. What the fuck am I doing standing in line waiting to drop $5.00 on another can?? Take you kids to Disney Land this summer instead.

You got this!! Good luck brother! KC Bronco

Hello all,

I am super happy to be here posting my introduction and announcing that I am on day 2 today. I have been considering quitting for some time now, have many several times before, but woke up yesterday and realized I had emptied my can the night before. On my way to work I pulled into the Quickstop for a fresh can and while I stood in line I came to a very sober realization, "WTF am I doing letting this little thing rule my life". I bought a pack of sugar-free gum instead and started my quit. I see here now in the worst fog imaginable, wrenching headache and body pains but still smiling cause' I know I am gonna beat this shit. I'm gonna beat it for me, my wife and my kids, because we all deserve better. I'm on Day 2 quit of a 21 year habit and I fucking got this.

Happy to be here.

Neil
