Mike, Congrats on quit! Welcome to KTC.

a couple things to do: drink lots of water-- forced hydration helps; exercise through the craves, sweat the nicotine out of your system; read all the info here on the site... intros, hall of fame speeches, words of wisdom; rage at us not at home or work, we've been there and understand; go join the June2017 quit group and post roll; get to know other quitters and build up a support network.

Quitting Again
« on: March 01, 2017, 06:35:00 PM »
I know better, but I still dip. I hate it, but I love it. Every night before I go to sleep my jaw aches. I promise myself tomorrow is the day. I wake up, and in autopilot reach for the can.

I stopped dipping for 2 years, but chewed nicotene gum like a mad man. Expensive, and tough on the jaw. But, I thought anything was better than putting a chew back in my mouth. About 6 months ago, I stopped and bought a can. It was after an argument with my wife about the cost of gum. I thought I'd chew for a few days...to quit the gum and reset, and then quit for good. I know...I'm a genius.

It just gets its hooks into me and owns me.

I want to break free of this habit. It is such a struggle. I want to quit for me, my daughters, my wife. Is there a good way to quit with gum? Or, is it just cold turkey, deal with it, and push through.. I don't know if I have will power. What is a good quit plan? Any help is appreciated. I'd like to do this.

Mike
