so I've decided it's time to quit.

Seems I've heard that somewhere or sometime in the past! Oh yeh, I said that at least once a week for over 4 decades. I just never followed through. Will you?

Everybody's already said it better than I could, but what the heck I'll add mine anyway. Limiting yourself just becomes an excuse to not quit. I never thought about quitting in almost 2 decades because heck I was just a light dipper, thought I was getting small enough amounts infrequently enough through the day etc. If you do decide to just quit though, you'll be welcomed with open arms by some of the best guys the web has to offer all here willing to be a friend  give a hand.

All of these guys have hit it right on the head.

Cutting back is stupid and does no good, if you are really wanting to be free, best way is toss the shit down the toilet. go get a can of smokey mountain, seeds and gum.

Get on the bull and hang on not sugar coating it that first several days are hell, after that it comes and goes but eventually you wake up and realize the one day at a time method has worked and you have 100 days.

YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP THOUGH.

Best way to quit is to quit out right, don't give the nic bitch an excuse to hang on and squeeze your balls. Give her a swift kick in the cooch, taco blocko, and chuck your stash down the toilet!

"Limiting" is super-stupid. Quitting is bad ass. Is it better to be super-stupid or bad ass?

I used to think that my small dips made me a "light dipper." Also, I thought that a bunch of small dips was healthier. I honestly believed that I was not that big of an addict because of my self-described status of "light dipper."

My point is that Nic makes you deceive yourself, rationalize against logic, and just plain old lie to yourself. There is no short-cut or trick to quitting. You can't ease your way to freedom. You've got to earn it. Cold turkey is the ONLY way to go. You just decide to do it and YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN. Then post roll and keep your word!

You're on the right track by coming here...no MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Do you know as soon as you put nicotine in any form you immediately FILL THE VOID that you've left from using smaller amounts. It doesn't matter how much you cut back,,, as soon as you use,,, it fills the void that you created using nicotine. You have done absolutely NO good. In other words,, you start the cycle over again as soon as you use again.... WAKE UP,, THINK ABOUT IT.

Quit or don't quit.. What's your choice??? If your choice is quit,, then post roll and lets get to it...

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Hey Ty... On this site we subscribe to the cold turkey method. Nicotine is an addiction.
There have been a TON of guys here who have thrown down the can after decades of the nicotine bitch controlling their lives... They quit, they supported each other, and they never looked back. Our philosophy here is simple: Post roll, Keep word, Repeat.

When you post roll, you are making a pledge to all of us, but more importantly to yourself that "I WILL NOT USE NICOTINE TODAY". It is not a pledge saying "I will use less nicotine than yesterday" or "I will think about less nicotine tomorrow". You are PROMISING to not use nicotine for that one day. THat is all that matters, the next 24 hour period. When you wake up the next day, you make the same promise. Forever takes care of itself. The mindgames will screw with you, the physical withdrawl will be brutal, but your focus is to keep nicotine out of your system TODAY.

So what does all this mean? It means QUIT TODAY. Cold Turkey. Dump your stash. Dump your other stash. Dump your double ultra top secret stash. If you are posting roll, we ask one simple thing: Do NOT use nicotine. When the suck hits, and the craves come calling, get on here to vent, rant, rave. Most of us are assholes and can take it. The rest of us are bigger assholes who can really take it. Don;t take it out on your loved ones.

I SINCERELY hope that you will sack up and post roll. Dec 2013 is waiting for you... Are you ready for us to help you be nic free?

All the best,
Brink

My sister is about to have her first child and it really got me thinking about when I have kids one day. I want to stay around as long as possible for them so I've decided it's time to quit. My question is would it be best to start limiting how much I dip per day before stopping completely or just stop all together?
Hey there Ty, glad you found the site.

The best time to is right now....flush all that poison down the shitter and lets get to quitting together.

Check out the welcome center and read what we are all about here. When your ready to take the KTC plunge, post roll with the December quit group. Roll is our daily promise to one another not to use nicotine in any form, just for today.

Keeping our word, one day at a time, that's how we stay quit here. Toss in some brotherhood and it truly works. I'll be glad to stand and quit with you today.

Like Construction I was a long time addict and I tried doing the limit down thing more times than I care to remember over the years and it never worked, there was always some reason why, but it always ended the same way with me back at a can a day after a few days.

Well that was the case 39 days ago when I finally went nic free. yeah I did do the limit down thing for a month BEFORE actually going cold turkey and the only difference is this time I happened to find this site the day after and it was a huge help.

My recommendation is to pick a day and just do it, but you MUST stick to quitting on that day.
No excuses!!!!

I dipped for 31 years and am currently on Day 12 of being quit. The best way is just go cold turkey. Stock up on the gum, buckle down and get ready for a huge battle.
